𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐨 𝐃𝐢𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬 "𝐓𝐢𝐩𝐨𝐤-𝐓𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐤: 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐀𝐫𝐭 𝐄𝐱𝐡𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐭"

Featuring artworks and installations from artists around the Dipolog-Dapitan area, as well as from other parts of Zamboanga del Norte, this group art exhibit is being held along with the celebration of the 27th P'gsalabuk Festival, the opening of which likewise happened on the same day.

Featured artists for the exhibit, selected violin performers, various Chiefs of Offices of the City Government of Dipolog, and other guests graced the opening of this exhibit, and served as the very first visitors of the newly-restructured Museo Dipolog Art Gallery.

The opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony was even made more special with the presence and support of Mr. Chris Millado, former Artistic Director and Vice President of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).

For visits, the Museo Dipolog is open from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. For planned group excursions, please send in advance a message to this page or the Museo Dipolog main page for coordination.

In celebration of International Museum Day at Museo Dipolog, experience SILKSCREEN (2026) — a poignant and deeply moving film by Writer/Director Rey Anthony Villaverde and Creative Producer Zig Dulay that beautifully weaves together family, memory, and the fading art of silkscreen printing.

The film follows the journey of a struggling shirt printer reconnecting with his aging father, as they confront the changes time has left on both their craft and their relationship — a heartfelt reflection on heritage, artistry, and the bonds that endure through generations.

Join us for this special cultural event that honors storytelling, creativity, and the preservation of local history and artistic traditions through cinema.

[Bit of History]

Dipolog rose to prominence during World War II in the Victor IV Operations to retake Mindanao due to the complementary, albeit significant role it played in the ensuing Battle for Zamboanga and the Sulu Archipelago, because of the strategic location of its airfield.

81 years ago, a battle was fought in defense of the Dipolog Airfield. A young man, Corporal Jesus "Jake" B. Ilogon, then a 20-year old guerilla from Iligan, had his first taste of battle here.

Cpl. Ilogon recalls: “At 8AM in the morning of April 24, 1945 three P-38 Lightnings (called double-body by the locals) made a shallow dive and strafed the Japanese in three passes. The plane barrage was a grim show from our grandstand ridge.”
