OFFICIAL UPDATE:
The Philippine Council for Agriculture and Fishery (PCAF), in close coordination with the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAg) and local Municipal Agriculture and Fishery Councils (MAFC), successfully conducted an intensive Participatory Monitoring and Tracking (PMT) mission across Zamboanga del Norte from June 1–4, 2026. Led by PCAF-PMKMD-PDS Chief Jahensi E. Supanga alongside PAFC Coordinator Ed Neilson Gallemit and dedicated MAFC leaders, the team evaluated 24 critical agricultural and fishery projects to ensure accountability and optimal resource deployment under the region's various banner programs.

The mission high-performance assessment revealed an impressive 83% success rate, with 20 key facilities and machinery deployments ranging from high-capacity combine harvesters and hauling trucks to vital irrigation cooperative systems fully operational and serving our local farmers. For the remaining 4 projects currently labeled "For Utilization," OPAG and PCAF have proactively instituted swift policy and operational recommendations, including addressing manufacturer delivery scopes, accelerating the completion of infrastructure like the Sigamok Organic Fertilizer Composting Center by September 2026, and implementing mandatory legal updates to ensure all future heavy agricultural vehicles are turned over alongside their official registration documents (OR/CR) to protect our cooperatives from regulatory liabilities.

Together, we continue to streamline public agricultural investments for a more food-secure, resilient, and progressive Zamboanga del Norte!

The Provincial Government of Zamboanga del Norte, through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, successfully conducted the Turn-Over of Agricultural and Fishery Inputs last May 20, 2026 in the Municipality of Siayan for the ten (10) implementing associations of the RRP-CCAM Project LAWA at BINHI and Enhanced Gasang Bahandianon sa Umahan (EGBU) Scale-Up.

In partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the activity also highlighted EGBU Scale-up Program initiatives, including the Agri-Business and Marketing Assistance Sservices (AMAS) and Food Processing, to strengthen support for farmers and fisherfolk from production to marketing and value-addition.

OFFICIAL UPDATE:

The Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAG) - Zamboanga del Norte, represented by PAFC Chairperson Ranulfo L. Arcos and PAFC Coordinator Ed Neilson G. Gallemit, actively participated in the Regional Agricultural and Fishery Council (RAFC) IX Summit held on May 20-21, 2026, at Jackie's Hotel in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The two-day event focused on the harmonization of local agricultural governance, featuring critical orientations from the DILG and PCAF regarding the implementation of DA-DILG Joint Memorandum Circular (JMC) No. 01, Series of 2025, which mandates the integration and full support of local AFCs within Local Development Councils (LDCs).

The second day culminated in an intensive action-planning workshop where our provincial delegation formulated strategic roadmaps to ensure that Zamboanga del Norte’s private-sector agricultural stakeholders are heavily involved and well-funded in upcoming local development and investment plans.

GIPAHIBALO sa Provincial Agriculture Office ang pagpatigayon sa “KADIWA ng Pangulo” karong Mayo 26, 2026 didto sa Eco Park, Upper Turno, Dipolog City, sugod alas 8:00 sa buntag hangtod alas 3:00 sa hapon.

Ang maong kalihukan nagtumong sa pagpasundayag ug pagbaligya sa presko, barato, ug dekalidad nga mga produktong agri-fishery gikan sa mga lokal nga mag-uuma, mangingisda, ug mga agri-entrepreneurs sa probinsiya.

Pinaagi sa pagsuporta sa lokal nga mga produkto, mapalig-on ang komunidad, matabangan ang panginabuhian sa katawhan, ug mapalambo ang malungtarong agrikultura ug pangisda.

Gilauman usab nga daghang mga katawhan ang motambong sa maong kalihukan aron makapalit sa nagkadaiyang presko nga prutas, utanon, humay, ug uban pang lokal nga produkto sa mas mubu nga presyo.

Ang “KADIWA ng Pangulo” kabahin sa padayon nga programa sa gobyerno nga nagtutok sa pagtabang sa mga mag-uuma ug mangingisda pinaagi sa paghatag kanila ug diretsong merkado alang sa ilang mga produkto.

Giawhag ang publiko sa pagbisita ug pagsuporta sa maong kalihukan isip pagpakita sa pagpalambo sa lokal nga ekonomiya ug pagdasig sa paggamit sa kaugalingong produkto sa komunidad. -30-
