DILG ZDN GFPS HOLDS SPECIAL MEETING

Today | August 10, 2026, The DILG Zamboanga del Norte Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) convened for a Special Meeting today, presided over by LGOO VII Anabella A. Jatico, with 12 of the 16 GFPS members in attendance.

The meeting focused on key matters and initiatives advancing the Departmentโ€™s commitment to Gender and Development (GAD) mainstreaming, including:

LCAT-VAWC Initial Results โ€“ The GFPS discussed the initial results and relevant updates concerning the Local Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Children (LCAT-VAWC).

Pre-work for the 2027 Provincial GAD Planning and Budgeting Workshop โ€“ Preparatory activities were discussed in anticipation of the Regional GAD Planning and Budgeting Workshop on August 18, 2026, to be attended by the Provincial Director.

Ways Forward: DILG ZDN SportsFest 2026 โ€“ Initial preparations and coordination were undertaken for the upcoming SportsFest on August 27, 2026, promoting teamwork, camaraderie, wellness, and a positive workplace environment among DILG personnel.

Through collaborative planning and purposeful action, the DILG ZDN GFPS continues to strengthen GAD mainstreaming and advance a more inclusive, responsive, and gender-responsive organization.

DILG Zamboanga del Norte successfully conducted the Building Disaster-Resilient Communities through Public Safety Continuity Planning Workshop, which also featured an Interfacing Session with DILG Regional Director Pablio L. Benitez Jr. PhD, CESO V and the 7th Provincial Conference at the Municipal Hall in Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte.

The activity brought together DILG officials and personnel to strengthen disaster resilience, enhance public safety continuity planning, and foster collaboration in advancing responsive and effective local governance. It also provided a valuable platform for discussing regional priorities, exchanging best practices, and reinforcing the Department's commitment to building safer, more resilient communities.

Through initiatives such as this, DILG Zamboanga del Norte continues to empower local government units and stakeholders with the knowledge, strategies, and partnerships needed to ensure preparedness, continuity of public services, and sustainable development in the face of emergencies and disasters.
