BIR Commissioner Charlito Martin R. Mendoza gives his End-of-Day Assessment following the 2026 National Enforcement Command Center Reporting held today, September 3, 2026, at the Office of Revenue Region No. 8A – Makati City.

Commissioner Mendoza described the month-long heightened enforcement operations nationwide as successful, citing coordinated actions, orderly ex*****on, significant apprehensions and seizures, and the return of flagged taxpayers to compliance.

He emphasized that the work does not end with the operations, as the Bureau will conduct follow-up inspections to ensure sustained compliance and pursue appropriate seizure, forfeiture, and legal proceedings when warranted.

Sa episode na ito, ibinahagi ni BIR Commissioner Charlito Martin R. Mendoza kay DZRH anchor Cesar Chavez, sa kanilang panayam noong Agosto 8, 2026, ang mga tax relief measures na ipinatutupad ng Bureau.

Una ay ang one-time tax abatement na maaaring i-avail ng mga kwalipikadong microtaxpayer hanggang Disyembre 31, 2026. Pangalawa ay ang pinalawig na listahan ng VAT-exempt na mahahalagang gamot, na umabot na sa 2,277 gamot para sa cancer, diabetes, hypertension, at kidney disease.

Binigyang-diin ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa kaniyang State of the Nation Address ang mga tax relief measures na nagbibigay-ginhawa sa mga taxpayer. Sa ilalim ng kaniyang pamumuno, at katuwang si Finance Secretary Frederick D. Go, patuloy na isinusulong ng BIR ang pagbubuwis na patas, may malasakit, at nakasentro sa kapakanan ng taxpayer.

𝗣𝗔𝗡𝗢𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗡: Noong magsara ang food and beverage franchise nina Sherwin at Treza Seva, hindi lang tindahan nila ang nawala. Kasama na rin ang pag-asa na makapagsimulang muli dahil sa libu-libong naipong tax liabilities.

Hanggang narinig nila ang one-time tax abatement program ng BIR.

Sa ilalim ng programang ito, ang mga microtaxpayers o ang mga may taunang kita na hindi hihigit sa P3 million ay maaaring i-settle ang kanilang mga lumobong tax liabilities sa halagang P5,000.00 kada taon.

Para sa mag-asawang Seva, ang kanilang pag-avail ng programang ito ay nagbigay pag-asa sa kanila na makapagsimulang muli sa negosyo.

Tulad ng sinabi ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa kanyang SONA, ang one time tax abatement program ay ginawa ng BIR upang bigyan ng pagkakataon ang mga microentrepreneurs na muling bumangon mula sa kahirapan ng nakaraang mga taon.

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) advises all concerned taxpayers, Revenue officials, and employees currently using the eBIRForms Offline Package to download and install the latest version, eBIRForms Offline Package Version 7.9.6.0 or 7.9.6.1.

Older versions of the eBIRForms Offline Package will be discontinued and will no longer be supported.

Taxpayers are encouraged to update at the earliest opportunity and carefully follow the procedures in the accompanying User Manual, particularly those covering the backup and restoration of previously saved tax returns and related data.

Taxpayers may now access the system through the BIR website for the preparation and filing of tax returns.

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), through Revenue Memorandum Circular (RMC) No. 95-2026, has further extended to August 18, 2026, the specified tax filing, payment, remittance, registration, and submission deadlines for taxpayers in Habagat-affected areas previously covered by RMC No. 89-2026. The new Circular also expands the extension to taxpayers affected by the technical unavailability of the eBIRForms Offline Package.

For taxpayers covered by RMC No. 89-2026, the specified deadlines previously extended to August 17 are moved one more day to August 18.

Taxpayers affected by the eBIRForms technical issues are likewise given until August 18 to comply with the specified obligations covered by RMC 95-2026, without the corresponding penalties.

“We recognize the difficulties faced by taxpayers affected by the rains, as well as those who are unable to comply because of the technical issues with eBIRForms. We are giving them additional time to complete their tax obligations without penalty,” Commissioner Charlito Martin R. Mendoza said.

The extension covers specified filing, payment, remittance, and submission requirements originally due from August 10 to 16, 2026, including applicable withholding tax returns, income tax returns, ONETT transactions, and other obligations enumerated in the Circular.

The BIR has likewise issued a Bank Bulletin directing Authorized Agent Banks (AABs) to accept covered tax returns and payments until August 18, 2026, without the corresponding penalties, from both taxpayers covered by the Habagat-related extension and those affected by the unavailability of the eBIRForms Offline Package.

The BIR clarified that taxpayers mandated to use the Electronic Filing and Payment System (eFPS) who are not covered by RMC No. 89-2026 are not included in the extension and must continue to use eFPS to file their returns and pay taxes due.

“We remind covered taxpayers to complete their filing and payment requirements by August 18. At the same time, we assure taxpayers that when circumstances beyond their control make compliance difficult, the BIR will continue to respond reasonably and give them a fair opportunity to comply,” Commissioner Mendoza said.
