In accordance with Proclamation No. 563, s. 1959, Public Library Day is celebrated every March 9. The , together with public libraries nationwide, leads the celebration to highlight the important role of public libraries in promoting knowledge, literacy, and lifelong learning. This yearโs celebration of Public Library Day is a milestone in our shared commitment to lifelong learning for every Filipino. As we move into the second year of our three-year roadmap, we are shifting from the
Foundation Phase (2025) to the Action Phase (2026).
In 2025, our focus was on the โhowโ, guiding LGUs to set up their public libraries and affiliate with the National Library of the Philippines (NLP) for technical support. This year, we highlight the โwhy.โ We want to make it clear that Philippine public libraries are more than quiet spaces with books. They are dynamic, community- building hubs, โas living blueprintsโ that strengthen learning, connection, and empowerment in every community.
Here is the official poster for the 67th Public Library Day. Public libraries are encouraged to download and
print the poster using the editable version on Canva and display it prominently in their respective libraries.
