The Municipal Vice Mayor, Hon. Morsid M. Estino, on behalf of Municipal Mayor Hon. Benshar S. Estino and the Municipal Government of Panglima Estino, led a meaningful advocacy activity held on August 20, 2026, at the Barangay Punay Covered Court.
The activity highlighted the importance of breastfeeding, maternal and child health, support for pregnant and lactating mothers, and the protection of women and children from violence and abuse (VAWC).
An informative session for pregnant and lactating mothers was facilitated by Dra. Sitti Badria Saji-in, Municipal Health Officer, who discussed maternal health, breastfeeding, proper maternal care, and the overall well-being of mothers and their children.
The activity was also graced by distinguished guest speakers and representatives from various partner agencies and organizations, including Dra. Charina Izquierdo, SPWC External Vice President, representing Hja. Nurunnisah A. Tan, SPWC President; Fatma D. Angkaya, Provincial Nutrition Coordinator, representing Dr. Nhamier M. Jikiri of the Provincial Health Office; Nahla W. Alfad, IMC-UNICEF; Aimee Roldan, Safe Motherhood; Bren Amilhamja, Technical Staff; Fatma S. Sariul, Acting MSWDO; Elmalyn Nani, MAFAR Municipal Officer; Gibran K. Isnani, DSWD; Jonathan L. Idjan, PDO-DSWD; PCPT Nurhima P. Sajiron, Women and Children Protection Desk Officer; PCPT Bert F. Francisco, OIC, MPS-Panglima Estino; 1LT Restituto T. Dalogdog Jr., CO, Bravo Company, 21st Infantry Battalion; and Pindah Ensael, Internal Vice President of the Panglima Estino Women’s Council.
Also present were the Members of the Sangguniang Bayan of Panglima Estino, who actively showed their support for the advocacy, together with representatives from the 12 barangays of the municipality, demonstrating their shared commitment to promoting maternal and child health, breastfeeding, women’s empowerment, and the protection of women and children from violence and abuse.
As part of the activity, tokens were distributed to participating mothers, while cash assistance was also awarded through a raffle draw among pregnant and lactating mothers, as an added gesture of support and encouragement from the Office of the Municipal Vice Mayor.
The activity was facilitated and coordinated by the Municipal Government employees, headed by Municipal Nutrition Action Officer (MNAO) Officer Nurshailyn A. Jamil, with the support and participation of partner government agencies, barangay officials, health and nutrition workers, security personnel, women’s organizations, municipal employees, and other stakeholders.
The Office of the Municipal Vice Mayor extends its sincere appreciation to all guests, Sangguniang Bayan Members, representatives from the 12 barangays, partner agencies, organizations, mothers, volunteers, and stakeholders who contributed to the success of this meaningful advocacy activity.
