The Municipality of Dulag, Leyte proudly conducted the PuroKalusugan Orientation & Planning Workshop on June 5, 2026 at Brgy. Fatima Gym, with the active participation and support of Municipal Mayor Hon. Jade Artates Agullo, alongside the Municipal Health Office, Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), Barangay Officials, community leaders, and partner stakeholders.

The activity marked another significant step towards strengthening community-based healthcare services and ensuring that essential health programs genuinely reach every purok, especially underserved and geographically isolated communities. Through meaningful discussions, collaborative planning, and strategic coordination, participants were empowered to become more effective advocates of public health within their respective barangays.

PuroKalusugan is a vital initiative that reflects the government’s vision of making healthcare more accessible, responsive, inclusive, and people centered. It recognizes that health is not only the responsibility of healthcare workers, but a shared commitment among leaders, communities, and every individual working together for the common good.

During the workshop, participants discussed various strategies and action plans aimed at improving grassroots healthcare delivery, strengthening preventive healthcare measures, and promoting awareness on the importance of proper health practices and community participation. The activity also highlighted the crucial role of Barangay Health Workers and local health advocates who continuously dedicate their time and effort in serving the people and safeguarding the welfare of every family.

Mayor Jade Artates Agullo reaffirmed the Local Government Unit’s unwavering commitment to programs that prioritize the health and well-being of every Dulagnon. She emphasized that strong leadership, unity, and cooperation are essential in building healthier and more resilient communities capable of overcoming present and future health challenges.

With a strong commitment towards environmental protection and sustainable development, the Local Government Unit of Dulag, Leyte, under the leadership of Municipal Mayor HON. JADE ARTATES AGULLO, successfully conducted the Solid Waste Management Board Meeting to further strengthen the municipality’s environmental programs, policies, and initiatives aimed at creating a cleaner, greener, and healthier community for every Dulagnon.

The meeting gathered members of the Solid Waste Management Board, representatives from concerned municipal offices, partner agencies, and stakeholders to discuss significant matters concerning waste management, environmental sanitation, ecological preservation, and community participation. The activity also served as an avenue to assess current programs, identify existing environmental concerns, and formulate strategic actions and sustainable solutions that will contribute to the long-term welfare of the municipality and its people.

Among the important matters discussed were the proper implementation of waste segregation at source, strengthening of barangay-level environmental programs, responsible disposal practices, waste reduction initiatives, recycling and recovery efforts, and the importance of maintaining cleanliness in both public and private spaces. Emphasis was likewise given to the role of education and awareness campaigns in cultivating environmental responsibility among communities, especially the youth, as future stewards of the environment.

Mayor Jade Artates Agullo emphasized that environmental protection is not solely a government responsibility, but a collective obligation that requires unity, discipline, cooperation, and genuine concern from every member of the community. The Municipal Mayor further highlighted that sustainable progress can only be achieved when development goes hand in hand with environmental preservation and responsible stewardship of natural resources.

The Solid Waste Management Board Meeting also reaffirmed the commitment of LGU Dulag in continuously implementing programs and policies aligned with Republic Act No. 9003, otherwise known as the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000, which promotes a systematic, comprehensive, and ecological approach in managing solid waste while protecting public health and the environment.

As the municipality continues to move forward, LGU Dulag remains steadfast in pursuing innovative and sustainable environmental initiatives that encourage active community participation and shared accountability in protecting nature and maintaining ecological balance. Through strengthened collaboration among government offices, barangays, institutions, and citizens, the municipality envisions a future where every Dulagnon contributes towards building a resilient, environmentally responsible, and sustainable community.

In pursuit of responsive governance and continuous improvement of public services, Mayor 𝗝𝗔𝗗𝗘 𝗔. 𝗔𝗚𝗨𝗟𝗟𝗢 personally conducted an ocular visit to the LGU Slaughterhouse in Barangay Salvacion and the Solid Waste Management Facility in Barangay Rizal, Dulag, Leyte.

This visit underscores the commitment of the Local Government Unit of Dulag to ensure that essential facilities remain functional, efficient, and capable of meeting the needs of the community. Through direct inspection and assessment, concerns and areas for improvement can be properly identified and addressed, paving the way for better service delivery and sustainable development.

The LGU Slaughterhouse plays a vital role in safeguarding public health through the provision of sanitary and regulated meat processing services, while the Solid Waste Management Facility serves as a cornerstone of the municipality’s environmental protection efforts and responsible waste management practices.

Mayor Agullo emphasized the importance of regularly monitoring government facilities to ensure that they continue to operate effectively and contribute to the overall welfare of every Dulagnon. Such initiatives reflect the administration’s dedication to promoting cleanliness, environmental stewardship, public safety, and quality public service.

This initiative reflects the government's continued commitment to supporting our hardworking farmers and fisherfolk who play a vital role in ensuring food security and sustaining local communities. Through this assistance, beneficiaries are provided with additional resources to help improve their livelihood, recover from challenges, and strengthen their productivity.

In pursuit of delivering quality healthcare services and strengthening health information management, representatives from the Provincial Government of Leyte conducted an orientation on the 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 (QMR) System for the personnel of LGU Dulag, Leyte.

This initiative marks another significant step toward modernizing healthcare operations by equipping local health personnel with the knowledge and tools needed to manage patient information more efficiently, accurately, and securely. Through the Quick Medical Records System, healthcare providers can streamline record-keeping processes, improve access to vital patient data, and deliver more responsive and effective medical services to the community.

Last May 29, 2026, I had the privilege of leading the ceremonial lighting of the cauldron during the official opening of the 52nd Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) Anniversary Celebration at Dulag Plaza.

As the flame rose before the gathered delegates, it illuminated more than the night—it reflected the hopes, aspirations, and boundless potential of our young people. It reminded us that the true strength of every community lies not in its structures or institutions, but in the hearts, minds, and dreams of its youth.

The torch that was lit that evening symbolizes a shared responsibility: to guide, empower, and inspire the next generation. For every young person who dares to dream, to serve, and to lead, we must continue creating opportunities that allow those dreams to take flight.

Witnessing the enthusiasm, energy, and unity of the delegates from different municipalities was both inspiring and reassuring. In their voices, we hear the promise of tomorrow. In their actions, we see the future being shaped today. And in their commitment to service, we find hope for stronger, more compassionate, and more resilient communities.

As we celebrate this milestone, may we always remember that leadership is not measured by titles, but by the lives we touch and the positive change we create. May this gathering serve as a reminder that our youth are not merely the leaders of tomorrow—they are partners in progress today.

✨ The cauldron may have been lit for a celebration, but its flame carries a greater purpose: to keep alive the spirit of service, leadership, unity, and hope in every young Filipino.

To our PYAP delegates and youth leaders, continue believing in your potential. Continue raising your voices for what is right. Continue serving with passion and purpose. The future is brighter because of you.
