The Dumaguete City Fire Station is pleased to announce the availability of an additional official landline to provide the public with another accessible communication channel for fire emergency reports, inquiries, and other fire safety-related concerns.

This landline serves as an additional communication line alongside the Dumaguete City Fire Station’s established mobile hotline numbers, which remain active and continue to be regularly used for emergency calls and public assistance.

The public may utilize the new landline or the existing hotline numbers when reporting fire incidents, requesting emergency assistance, or raising fire safety-related concerns.

In case of fire or other emergencies, every second counts. Report immediately and provide accurate information about the location and nature of the incident.

Ang Kawanihan ng Pamatay Sunog ay nakikiisa sa buong sambayanan sa paggunita ng National Heroes Day, bilang pagpupugay sa mga kilala at hindi kilalang bayaning nag-alay ng kanilang buhay, tapang, at sakripisyo para sa kalayaan, kapayapaan, at kinabukasan ng ating bayan.

Sa bawat panahon, ang diwa ng kabayanihan ay patuloy na nabubuhay—sa paglilingkod nang buong puso, sa pagtulong sa kapwa, at sa pagtataguyod ng kaligtasan at kapakanan ng bawat Pilipino. Nawa’y magsilbing inspirasyon ang kanilang halimbawa upang patuloy nating isabuhay ang tunay na diwa ng kabayanihan, malasakit, at pagmamahal sa bayan.

Ang National Heroes Day ay ipinagdiriwang tuwing huling Lunes ng Agosto bilang isang regular na holiday alinsunod sa Republic Act No. 9492, na nagtakda sa huling Lunes ng Agosto bilang National Heroes Day.

Sa mensahe ni BFP Officer-in-Charge, FCSUPT Wilberto Rico Neil A Kwan Tiu, binigyang-diin niya na ang kabayanihan ay hindi lamang nasusukat sa mga dakilang sakripisyo, kundi higit sa lahat sa tapat, marangal, at walang pag-iimbot na paglilingkod sa bayan at sa kapwa. Aniya, ang bawat kawani ng BFP ay may pagkakataong maging bayani sa araw-araw—sa bawat buhay na sinasagip, bawat panganib na hinaharap, at bawat Pilipinong pinaglilingkuran. Nawa’y magsilbing inspirasyon ang mga bayani ng ating kasaysayan upang patuloy nating gampanan ang ating tungkulin nang may tapang, malasakit, at paninindigan.

The Dumaguete City Fire Station, through 𝑭𝑪𝑰𝑵𝑺𝑷 𝑬𝑹𝑾𝑰𝑵 𝑱𝑶𝑯𝑨𝑵𝑵𝑬𝑺 𝑰 𝑮𝑰𝑴𝑶𝑻𝑬𝑨, City Fire Marshal, formally presented to the City Mayor of Dumaguete, 𝑯𝑶𝑵. 𝑴𝑨𝑵𝑼𝑬𝑳 𝑪𝑯𝑰𝑸𝑼𝑰𝑵𝑮 𝑺𝑨𝑮𝑨𝑹𝑩𝑨𝑹𝑹𝑰𝑨, the Plaque of Recognition received in celebration of the 35th Anniversary of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), along with the trophy from the Barangay Fire Olympics 2026.

The ceremonial presentation recognizes the continued support and partnership of the City Government of Dumaguete in advancing the Bureau’s fire prevention, preparedness, and community safety initiatives.

The Dumaguete City Fire Station - Under the supervision of 𝑭𝑪𝑰𝑵𝑺𝑷 𝑬𝑹𝑾𝑰𝑵 𝑱𝑶𝑯𝑨𝑵𝑵𝑬𝑺 𝑰 𝑮𝑰𝑴𝑶𝑻𝑬𝑨, City Fire Marshal, welcomed nursery and pre-school students from Holy Cross Dumaguete during its Open House Activity held on August 27–28, 2026, aimed at promoting fire safety awareness among young learners.

The young visitors took part in an engaging learning experience featuring a PPE demonstration, a showcase of firefighting equipment and tools, and an opportunity to ride aboard a fire truck.

Firefighters also interacted with the students through discussions and demonstrations on basic fire safety and prevention, making the activity both educational and enjoyable.

The activity underscores the Bureau of Fire Protection’s commitment to bringing fire safety education closer to the community and instilling safety awareness among children at an early age.

Unity and readiness took center stage at the Dumaguete City Fire Station this morning!

𝑭𝑺𝑺𝑼𝑷𝑻 𝑮𝑬𝑹𝑹𝒀 𝑮 𝑩𝑬𝑹𝑻𝑬, Acting Regional Director of the BFP Negros Island Region (NIR), stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the Fire Marshals of Negros Oriental during the Traditional Monday Flag Raising Ceremony, warmly hosted by City Fire Marshal 𝑭𝑪𝑰𝑵𝑺𝑷 𝑬𝑹𝑾𝑰𝑵 𝑱𝑶𝑯𝑨𝑵𝑵𝑬𝑺 𝑰 𝑮𝑰𝑴𝑶𝑻𝑬𝑨.

Addressing the province's fire service leaders, FSSUPT BERTE delivered a powerful directive to elevate public safety and operational excellence. He challenged the Fire Marshals to anchor their leadership on four core principles:

𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒆 𝑺𝒂𝒇𝒆𝒕𝒚 𝑻𝒊𝒑: 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒚 𝑺𝒂𝒇𝒆 𝑫𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑩𝒓𝒐𝒘𝒏𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒔

Power outages can increase fire risks, especially when electricity suddenly returns.

* Unplug appliances and electronics during a brownout to protect them from possible power surges when electricity is restored.

* Avoid using candles whenever possible. Use a flashlight or rechargeable emergency lamp instead.

* If candles are necessary, place them on a stable, non-combustible surface and keep them away from curtains, papers, clothes, and other flammable materials. Never leave them unattended.

* Do not overload electrical outlets or extension cords when power returns. Plug appliances back in gradually.

* Check electrical wires, plugs, and outlets for signs of overheating, burning, or damage before using them.

* If using a generator, operate it outdoors in a well-ventilated area and never inside a house, garage, or enclosed space because of the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning and fire.

* Keep flashlights and emergency lights readily available, especially at night.

* When electricity returns, watch for unusual sparks, smoke, burning smells, or overheating. If observed, switch off the main breaker if it is safe to do so and have the electrical system checked.

Remember: Brownout does not mean fire risk is gone. In fact, the return of electricity can create additional hazards. Stay alert, stay prepared, and never leave an open flame unattended.
