CGS Negros Oriental Joins Nationwide Observance of MANA Mo 2026.

LOOK: Coast Guard Station Negros Oriental (CGS NOR) proudly joins the nation in observing Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANA Mo) 2026 this September.

As a maritime and archipelagic nation, the Philippines is deeply connected to the sea. Our waters serve as vital routes for transportation and commerce, provide livelihoods to our coastal communities, and host invaluable marine resources and ecosystems.

This month-long observance reminds us of our shared responsibility to understand, protect, and use our maritime domain responsibly. It also highlights the crucial role of maritime frontliners—including the Philippine Coast Guard—in safeguarding our seas, protecting lives and property, preserving marine environments, and promoting maritime safety and security.

Coast Guard Station Negros Oriental remains committed to serving the people and protecting our waters through its core mandates in maritime safety, security, environmental protection, and law enforcement.

𝐂𝐆𝐒 𝐍𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐬 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐜-𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 – 𝐃𝐚𝐮𝐢𝐧 𝐅𝐢𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔.

𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤: The Coast Guard Station Negros Oriental (CGS NOR), together with personnel from Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Dumaguete, Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Bacong, Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Dauin, Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Zamboanguita, and Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Siaton, participated in the Civic-Military Parade in connection with the Opening Salvo of the Dauin Fiesta 2026, held on 01 September 2026.

The activity was held at the Municipal Quadrangle, Dauin, Negros Oriental, bringing together various government agencies, organizations, and community members in celebration of the annual fiesta.

The participation of Coast Guard personnel demonstrated their support for local government initiatives and highlighted the spirit of unity, discipline, and community involvement.

Through this activity, the Philippine Coast Guard continues to strengthen its partnership with the local community while actively supporting meaningful civic and cultural events in Negros Oriental.

𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤: The Coast Guard Station Negros Oriental (CGS NOR) and its Sub-Stations actively participated in the Nationwide Simultaneous Blowing of Ships’ Horns and Ringing of Ships’ Bells.

The activity featured a two-minute continuous blast of ships’ horns, symbolizing unity, solidarity, and the maritime community’s commitment to safety at sea.

Through this simultaneous observance, CGS NOR and its Sub-Stations reaffirmed their dedication to promoting maritime safety, awareness, and cooperation across the maritime sector.

𝐒𝐔𝐂𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐅𝐔𝐋 𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐂𝐇 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐂𝐔𝐄 𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: Coast Guard Station Negros Oriental (CGS NOR), through personnel of CGSS Dumaguete, SOU-NOR, and CGMED-SV, swiftly responded to a report involving a partially submerged unmotorized banca in the vicinity waters off Brgy. Banilad, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, on August 29, 2026.

Upon receipt of the report, Coast Guard personnel immediately deployed a rubber boat to the area and successfully rescued the two individuals on board the partially submerged banca.

The responding team safely transported both individuals to shore, where they were attended to by CGMED-SV personnel. Following medical assessment, both individuals were found to be in good condition and declined further medical attention.

After ensuring the safety of the rescued individuals, Coast Guard personnel returned to the incident area, retrieved the partially submerged banca, and safely towed it to shore for proper disposition.

According to the rescued individuals, they were conducting paddling practice in preparation for a dragon boat activity when strong waves struck their unmotorized banca, causing water to enter the vessel and eventually resulting in its partial submersion.

The swift and coordinated response of Coast Guard personnel ensured the safe rescue of both individuals and the successful recovery of their banca.

LOOK: The Coast Guard Station Negros Oriental (CGS NOR) personnel attended the 2026 State of the City Address (SOCA) delivered by Honorable City Mayor Manuel “Chiquiting” T. Sagarbarria took place at the City Hall Grounds on 28 August 2026.

The event highlighted the city’s accomplishments, ongoing programs, and development priorities aimed at promoting progress and improving public service for the community.

The participation of Coast Guard personnel reflects their continued support for local government initiatives and their commitment to strengthening collaboration in serving the people.

LOOK: The Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Sibulan, under the leadership of Sub-Station Commander, LTJG LEMUEL C GUACEN PCG, together with Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Amlan, Marine Environment Protection Unit - Negros Oriental (MEPU-NOR), Maritime Safety Services Unit - Southern Visayas (MSSU-SV), Human Resource Management Unit - Southern Visayas (HRMU-SV), and various partner agencies, participated in the Coconut Planting Activity at Sitio Ata-ata, San Antonio, Sibulan, Negros Oriental, on August 28, 2026.

The activity demonstrated the collective commitment of government agencies and stakeholders to environmental protection, conservation, and sustainable community development through coconut planting.

Through this collaborative effort, participating agencies strengthened environmental stewardship and community partnership while contributing to a greener, healthier, and more sustainable environment for future generations.

Look: Personnel from the Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Mabinay (Interim), together with the Marine Environmental Protection Unit - Negros Oriental (MEPU-NOR) and members of the Mabinay Districts III and IV Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) and Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP), successfully conducted Tree Planting and Knot-Tying Activities in Mabinay, Negros Oriental, on 21 August 2026.

The activities promoted environmental awareness and conservation through tree planting while providing BSP and GSP participants with practical knot-tying skills in preparation for their upcoming camporal encampment.

Through collective efforts, the participating organizations strengthened environmental stewardship, practical outdoor skills, and cooperation—helping nurture a greener and more prepared future generation.

𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤: Personnel from the Coast Guard Station Negros Oriental (CGS NOR), together with the Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Sibulan and the 1306th Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) Squadron, rendered necessary assistance to the Coast Guard Dental Service–Southern Visayas during the conduct of a Dental Mission at Bata ng Calabnugan, Brgy. Calabnugan, Sibulan, Negros Oriental, on 22 August 2026.

The activity was conducted in celebration of the 6th Founding Anniversary of Coast Guard District Southern Visayas (CGDSV), providing essential dental services and promoting oral health among the children.

The collaborative effort reflects the Philippine Coast Guard’s continued commitment to community outreach, public service, and promoting the health and well-being of children and communities.
