The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Negros Oriental Provincial Office, together with members of the Negros Oriental Bamboo Industry Development Council (NOBIDC), joined the ๐—ก๐—ฒ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜€ ๐—œ๐˜€๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐—ด๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป (๐—ก๐—œ๐—ฅ) ๐—œ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ-๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—•๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐—ผ ๐—œ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐˜‚๐˜€๐˜๐—ฟ๐˜† ๐——๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜ ๐—–๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐—น ๐— ๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด to officially kick off the celebration of Philippine Bamboo Month 2026 in the region.

The meeting brought together bamboo industry stakeholders from the Negros Oriental Bamboo Industry Development Council, Negros Occidental Bamboo Industry Development Council, and Siquijor Bamboo Industry Development Council to discuss the region's upcoming September Bamboo Month activities, the potential establishment of Negros Island Region Regional Bamboo Industry Development Council, the DOST-NIR Bamboo Supply and Value Chain Study, and the Regional BAMBOOST Forum to be conducted in partnership with BASE Bahay Foundation.

Also in attendance were representatives from DENR-PENRO Negros Oriental, DENR-PENRO Siquijor, DOST-NIR, Kawayan Collective, and Foundation University, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening collaboration and advancing bamboo as a sustainable industry for economic development, environmental conservation, and community empowerment across the Negros Island Region.

As we celebrate Philippine Bamboo Month, DTI Negros Oriental remains steadfast in supporting initiatives that promote innovation, market opportunities, and value-added bamboo enterprises, paving the way for a more resilient and sustainable bamboo industry.

The Hosanna Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Cooperative (HARBENCO) proudly participated in the Dumaguete City Trade Fair, Farm Family Congress, and Kadiwa ng Pangulo held on August 18-20, 2026 in Dumaguete City.

As an Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organization (ARBO), HARBENCO showcased its value-added pineapple products, including fresh pineapple, pineapple jam, and pineapple gummies, highlighting the quality and market potential of products developed by agrarian reform beneficiaries.

The Negros Oriental Bamboo Industry Development Council (NOBIDC) convened its regular meeting on August 13, 2026 at the 3rd Floor Conference Room, DTI Negros Oriental Provincial Office, Dumaguete City.

The meeting gathered representatives from various government agencies, academe, bamboo-based enterprises, designers, and other stakeholders committed to advancing the province's bamboo industry. Through collaborative discussions and strategic planning, the Council reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the bamboo value chain, promoting sustainable livelihoods, and supporting the growth and competitiveness of Negros Oriental's bamboo sector.

A major agenda of the meeting was the preparation and coordination of activities for the celebration of Bamboo Month in September 2026, highlighting the industry's contribution to environmental sustainability, economic development, and innovation.

Together, stakeholders continue to work towards a more vibrant, resilient, and sustainable bamboo industry in Negros Oriental.
