Today, I have filed House Bill No. 9815 seeking the renewal of the franchise of NORECO II, ensuring the continued delivery of dependable electric service to thousands of households, businesses, schools, hospitals, and communities across Negros Oriental. For nearly five decades, NORECO II has been a partner in our province’s growth and development. Through this measure, we aim to secure uninterrupted power, support modernization and infrastructure improvements, and help build a stronger, more resilient, and more prosperous future for every Negrense.

Before the House of Representatives adjourned sine die, we attended the hearing of the Committee on Legislative Franchises as principal author of House Bill No. 3329, which seeks to renew the franchise of the Negros Oriental I Electric Cooperative (NORECO I).

It is also with great pride and honor to share to all of you that the National Electric Administration has rated NORECO I with an AAA Rating in its overall performance assessments among electric cooperatives nationwide for the past two years.

The approval of the bill at the committee level brings us a step closer to securing the continued delivery of electric services in our district. We remain committed to advancing meaningful legislation that addresses the needs of our constituents and helps ensure reliable, accessible, and sustainable electricity for every Negrosanon.

This meaningful contribution will greatly enhance the City’s capacity to provide timely, safe, and accessible transportation for patients in need of medical care, particularly those requiring urgent transfers and healthcare services.
