TROPICAL CYCLONE OUTSIDE PAR AS OF 3:00 AM TODAY TROPICAL STORM KROVANH (2624) {FORMERLY "PILANDOK"} LOCATION: 875 KM NORTHEAST OF EXTREME NORTHERN LUZON (25.5ยฐN, 128.7ยฐE) MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS: 65 KM/H NEAR THE CENTER GUSTINESS: UP TO 80 KM/H MOVEMENT: EAST SOUTHEASTWARD AT 10 KM/H

KROVANH MAINTAINS ITS STRENGTH WHILE MOVING SOUTHEASTWARD.

โžฃ Location of Center (10:00 PM):
The center of the Tropical Storm KROVANH was estimated based on all available data at 835 km Northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon (OUTSIDE PAR) (25.4ยฐN, 128.3ยฐE).
โžฃ Intensity:
Maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 80 km/h, and central pressure of 992 hPa.
โžฃ Present Movement:
Southeastward at 20 km/h
โžฃ Extent of Tropical Cyclone Winds
Strong to gale-force winds extend outwards up to 560 km from the center.

GENERAL OUTLOOK FOR THE FORECAST PERIOD
โ€ข KROVANH will continue moving southeastward and is forecast to re-enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) between tomorrow (06 September) morning and early afternoon. Once inside the PAR, the tropical cyclone will retain its local name PILANDOK. Beginning tomorrow, it will move eastward while over the Philippine Sea before turning generally northeastward for the remaining of the forecast period. On the forecast track, KROVANH will exit the PAR by Monday (07 September).
โ€ข This tropical cyclone may maintain its strength in the next 36 hours and weaken into a tropical depression by Monday afternoon or evening.
โ€ข Landfall over the country remains unlikely and this disturbance is not expected to directly affect the weather and sea conditions in the country. However, in the next 24 hours, the Southwest Monsoon may bring moderate to rough seas over the coastal waters of Batanes and Babuyan Islands while moderate seas over the eastern and western seaboards of Luzon.

Considering these developments, the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to continue monitoring for updates related to this tropical cyclone.

Unless there is an intermediate issuance, the next tropical cyclone advisory will be issued at 11:00 AM tomorrow.
