The Negros Oriental Jobs Report for August 2026 reveals a notable shift in the provinceโs local labor market, with Production Machine Operator emerging as the top in-demand job, overtaking Call Center Agent, which has consistently ranked amongโand often occupiedโthe highest position among the provinceโs most in-demand occupations.
The report shows that the Manufacturing sector accounted for the largest share of local job opportunities at 47%, followed by Administrative and Support Service Activities at 23% and Accommodation and Food Service Activities at 17%. This growing demand in the manufacturing sector is also reflected in the rise of Production Machine Operator as the leading in-demand occupation for the month.
Meanwhile, Call Center Agent remains among the provinceโs top employment opportunities, followed by occupations such as Waiter (General), Domestic Cleaner, Production Worker, Hospitality Girl, Trailer Driver, Occupational Therapist, Midwife I (Government), and Service Crew.
For overseas employment, Domestic Helper remains the top in-demand occupation, with Other Service Activities, particularly Helpers and Cleaners, accounting for 40% of the top overseas job sectors. Manufacturing and Human Health and Social Work also continue to provide significant overseas employment opportunities.
This latest Jobs Report highlights the changing demands of the local labor market and the growing employment opportunities available across different industries.
