The forum provided a platform for higher education institutions to explore innovative approaches to strengthening academic programs through the ๐„๐ฑ๐ฉ๐š๐ง๐๐ž๐ ๐“๐ž๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐š๐ซ๐ฒ ๐„๐๐ฎ๐œ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐„๐ช๐ฎ๐ข๐ฏ๐š๐ฅ๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ฒ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐€๐œ๐œ๐ซ๐ž๐๐ข๐ญ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐š๐ฆ (๐„๐“๐„๐„๐€๐). Discussions featured the ETEEAP framework, implementation process, accreditation requirements, and relevant institutional practices and experiences that can guide institutions in expanding accessible and industry-responsive pathways to higher education.

The forum also highlighted the integration of the ๐’๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ข๐ง๐š๐›๐ฅ๐ž ๐ƒ๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ฅ๐จ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐†๐จ๐š๐ฅ๐ฌ (๐’๐ƒ๐†๐ฌ) into the curricula of Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, and Business programs. Through these discussions, participants were encouraged to rethink curriculum design and align academic programs with emerging industry needs, sustainability principles, and the evolving demands of a globally connected society.

More than an exchange of knowledge and practices, the forum underscored the shared commitment of higher education institutions to transform learning, strengthen academic relevance, and equip the next generation of professionals and leaders to contribute meaningfully to sustainable development.

The CHED Regional Office XVIII โ€“ Negros Island Region (CHEDRO NIR) conducted its ๐Ÿ‘๐ซ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐š๐ซ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ ๐๐ž๐ซ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ๐ฆ๐š๐ง๐œ๐ž ๐‘๐ž๐ฏ๐ข๐ž๐ฐ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐“๐š๐ซ๐ ๐ž๐ญ ๐๐ฅ๐š๐ง๐ง๐ข๐ง๐  ๐€๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ on July 30, 2026, as part of its continuing efforts to assess organizational performance, address operational concerns, and strengthen the delivery of services to the higher education sector. The activity focused on reviewing the Officeโ€™s accomplishments, assessing the implementation of programs, projects, and activities, and identifying issues and challenges affecting performance. It likewise provided an avenue for the formulation of appropriate strategies and action plans to ensure the timely and effective achievement of organizational targets for the remaining months of the year, while promoting coordination, accountability, collaboration, and continuous performance improvement.

The program featured the presentation of the Officeโ€™s accomplishments by R๐ž๐ ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐ƒ๐ข๐ซ๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐‘๐š๐ฎ๐ฅ ๐‚. ๐€๐ฅ๐ฏ๐š๐ซ๐ž๐ณ ๐‰๐ซ., followed by an IPCR Workshop led by ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐๐ž๐ง๐ซ๐ข๐ž ๐‰๐š๐ฆ๐ž๐ฌ ๐. ๐๐ฎ๐Ÿ๐š๐›๐ฅ๐ž, ๐’๐ฎ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐ฏ๐ข๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐„๐๐ฎ๐œ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐š๐ฆ ๐’๐ฉ๐ž๐œ๐ข๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ. The occasion marked a meaningful milestone for the Regional Office, reflecting its continuing efforts to strengthen its operations, enhance its working environment, and further its commitment to responsive and sustained service to the higher education sector.

BACOLOD CITY โ€” In celebration of the 59th ASEAN Founding Anniversary, the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XVIII โ€“ Negros Island Region (CHEDRO XVIII-NIR), in partnership with the University of St. La Salle (USLS), officially kicked off the ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ” ๐€๐’๐„๐€๐ ๐‚๐ž๐ฅ๐ž๐›๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐ข๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐๐ž๐ ๐ซ๐จ๐ฌ ๐ˆ๐ฌ๐ฅ๐š๐ง๐ ๐‘๐ž๐ ๐ข๐จ๐ง on August 3, 2026, at the USLS Coliseum in Bacolod City.

Anchored on the theme โ€œ๐๐š๐ฏ๐ข๐ ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐Ž๐ฎ๐ซ ๐…๐ฎ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ž, ๐“๐จ๐ ๐ž๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ซ โ€ the opening celebration brought together higher education institution heads, presidents, personnel, and students in a vibrant showcase of the regionโ€™s cultural richness and academic diversity.

Adding color and energy to the celebration were cultural performances from the De La Salle Chorale of USLS, Excelsior Performing Group of Carlos Hilado Memorial State University, and Sining Kali Performing Arts of STI West Negros University. Their performances highlighted the diverse traditions, artistic expressions, and creative talents thriving within the Negros Island Regionโ€™s higher education community.

Beyond celebrating ASEANโ€™s shared heritage, the event underscored the spirit of collaboration among higher education institutions in building a more connected, inclusive, and globally engaged Negros Island Region.
