LOOK l The Maritime Safety Services Unit โ Southern Visayas (MSSU-SV) proudly concludes the month of June with another chapter of dedicated service and mission accomplishment in support of the Philippine Coast Guard's mandate of ensuring maritime safety, protecting the marine environment, and serving the Filipino people.
Throughout the month, the unit successfully carried out the following mission-essential activities across the Southern Visayas Area of Responsibility:
Participated in the Headquarters Maritime Safety Services Command (HMSSC) 2nd Command Conference through an online platform, strengthening strategic direction, operational coordination, and command unity among Maritime Safety units.
Attended the Coast Guard District Southern Visayas (CGDSV) 2nd Command Conference held at Sea Dreams Resort, Dauin, Negros Oriental, reinforcing leadership engagement, mission alignment, and organizational excellence.
Participated in a Multi-Sectoral Meeting with MARINA Regional Office VI and other maritime stakeholders to strengthen interagency collaboration and discuss measures aimed at enhancing maritime safety and security within the region.
Conducted Troops Information and Education (TI&E) on Marine Safety Investigation (MSI) to all CGDSV Coast Guard Stations and Sub-Stations, enhancing personnel capability in the conduct of maritime safety investigations.
Participated in a Blood Letting Activity, demonstrating the unit's commitment to humanitarian service and community welfare.
Joined Coast Guard District Southern Visayas (CGDSV) Stations and Sub-Stations in manning Passenger Assistance Desks at various ports within the Area of Responsibility in support of Oplan Byaheng Ayos 2026, providing assistance to the riding public and promoting safe, orderly, and convenient travel.
Conducted Coastal Beach Resort Inspections to promote compliance with maritime safety standards and help ensure the safety and security of beachgoers, tourists, and coastal communities.
Conducted Vessel Safety Enforcement Inspections (VSEI) to uphold maritime safety regulations and promote safe vessel operations within the District.
Continues Preventive Maintenance Services (PMS) on established Aids to Navigation (AtoN) to ensure the continued reliability and operational readiness of navigational facilities in support of the safety of life at sea.
Participated in Coastal Clean-Up and Tree Planting Activities in observance of the Day of the Seafarer and Philippine Environment Month, reaffirming the Philippine Coast Guard's commitment to environmental protection, coastal conservation, and sustainable maritime stewardship.
These accomplishments reflect the dedication, teamwork, and commitment of our personnel in carrying out the Philippine Coast Guard's mission. Guided by the PCG ICARE program that is designed to protect coastal populations, ensure maritime safety and enhance disaster response operations.
