𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: The 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁- 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘆𝗮𝘀 (𝗠𝗦𝗦𝗨-𝗦𝗩) extends its support to the Coconut Planting Activity, today, at Sitio Ata-ata, San Antonio, Sibulan, Negros Oriental, in line with our shared commitment to environmental protection and community engagement.

While the activity is led by our partner stakeholders, the Philippine Coast Guard remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable community.

Through the PCG iCare Program, we continue to encourage our personnel and partners to take part in activities that reflect our care for the environment, community, and future generations.

Together, let us nurture our environment today for a better and more sustainable tomorrow.

𝗡𝗦𝗧𝗣 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗠 & 𝗖𝗚𝗗𝗦𝗩 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗖 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗬

𝙇𝙊𝙊𝙆 | The 𝘾𝙤𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙂𝙪𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙩 𝙎𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙣 𝙑𝙞𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙨 (𝘾𝙂𝘿𝙎𝙑) participated in the NSTP Opening Program and PCG Static Display held at STI–West Negros University, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.

Personnel from the 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙎𝙖𝙛𝙚𝙩𝙮 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙩–𝙎𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙣 𝙑𝙞𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙨 (𝙈𝙎𝙎𝙐-𝙎𝙑), led by LTJG Gerald Paul E Barcelona PCG, Officer-in-Charge for Aids to Navigation, together with MSSU-Bacolod personnel, engaged the students by highlighting the PCG mandate and the vital role of Aids to Navigation (AtoN) in ensuring safe and efficient navigation and preventing maritime incidents.

Through meaningful engagements with the youth, the Philippine Coast Guard continues to promote maritime safety, civic awareness, and service to the community.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: The 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿, 𝗠𝗦𝗦𝗨-𝗦𝗩, together with MSSU-SV personnel, 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘀 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 (𝗖𝗚𝗦 𝗡𝗢𝗥), and 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗯-𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗖𝗚𝗦𝗦) 𝗭𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗮, conducted an information drive for resort owners within the area of responsibility, today, at Silver Reef Function Hall, Maayong Tubig, Dauin, Negros Oriental.

The activity focused on the Guidelines on Safety and Security Requirements for Coastal and Beach Resorts and Vessels with Pool Facilities, including the Qualifications and Requirements of Lifeguards, to promote the safety of life at sea and enhance public awareness on maritime safety standards.

Through continuous collaboration and information dissemination, the Philippine Coast Guard remains committed to fostering a safer and more secure coastal tourism environment for everyone.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | The 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐬 (𝐂𝐆𝐃𝐒𝐕), in partnership with the 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃), successfully conducted the NSTP–CWTS Orientation at 𝐕𝐌𝐀 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 and 𝐋𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 (𝐋𝐂𝐂) in Negros Occidental.

As part of the activity, personnel from the 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 – 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐬 (𝐌𝐒𝐒𝐔-𝐒𝐕), led by LTJG Gerald Paul E Barcelona PCG, Officer-in-Charge for Aids to Navigation, together with PO1 Mark V Bantillo PCG, SN2 Gentugao PCG and ASN Gevero PCG, introduced the students to the Philippine Coast Guard's mandate and highlighted the vital role of Aids to Navigation (AtoN) in promoting safe, efficient, and orderly vessel movement. The discussion emphasized how lighthouses, buoys, beacons, and other navigational aids assist mariners in identifying safe routes, avoiding hazards, and preventing maritime incidents, ultimately contributing to the protection of lives, property, and the marine environment.

Through initiatives such as the NSTP–CWTS Orientation, the Philippine Coast Guard continues to inspire the youth to become active partners in nation-building and advocates of maritime safety.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: The 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭-𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐬 (𝐌𝐒𝐒𝐔-𝐒𝐕) personnel together with 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐍𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐬 𝐎𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 (𝐂𝐆𝐒 𝐍𝐍𝐎𝐂) participated in the Coastal Clean-up and Mangrove Planting Activity, today, at Brgy. Punta Taytay, Bacolod City, in collaboration with the City Health Office and the Philippine Red Cross. This initiative highlights our collective commitment to coastal conservation, environmental sustainability, and community service.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: The Maritime Safety Services Unit – Southern Visayas (MSSU-SV), in partnership with Coast Guard Sub-Station Bais, successfully conducted a Maritime Safety Information Drive for Wooden Hull Recreational Boat (WHRB) owners, operators, and crew members in Bais City, Negros Oriental.

The activity aimed to strengthen compliance with maritime safety regulations and enhance emergency preparedness by promoting safe boat operations, proper use of life-saving appliances, weather awareness, passenger safety, and the responsibilities of boat owners, operators, and crew.

This initiative was made possible through the invaluable support of the Local Government Unit of Bais, particularly the Sangguniang Panlungsod, City Tourism Office, and City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), reflecting a shared commitment to safer recreational boating and the protection of lives at sea.

Through collaboration, education, and community engagement, the Philippine Coast Guard continues to advance a culture of maritime safety in line with the PCG ICARE (Intensified Community Awareness Response and Enforcement) Program.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: I In observance of World Marine Aids to Navigation (WAtoN) Day 2026, the Maritime Safety Services Unit – Southern Visayas (MSSU-SV), in collaboration with Coast Guard Station Siquijor and Coast Guard Sub-Station Minalulan, conducted a Lighthouse Clean-Up Activity at Minalunan Lighthouse, Siquijor, Siquijor.

The activity highlights the Philippine Coast Guard's continued commitment to preserving vital Aids to Navigation, promoting environmental stewardship, and strengthening community partnership in support of the PCG ICARE (Intensified Community Assistance, Awareness, Response and Enforcement) Program.

LOOK l The Maritime Safety Services Unit – Southern Visayas (MSSU-SV) proudly concludes the month of June with another chapter of dedicated service and mission accomplishment in support of the Philippine Coast Guard's mandate of ensuring maritime safety, protecting the marine environment, and serving the Filipino people.

Throughout the month, the unit successfully carried out the following mission-essential activities across the Southern Visayas Area of Responsibility:

Participated in the Headquarters Maritime Safety Services Command (HMSSC) 2nd Command Conference through an online platform, strengthening strategic direction, operational coordination, and command unity among Maritime Safety units.

Attended the Coast Guard District Southern Visayas (CGDSV) 2nd Command Conference held at Sea Dreams Resort, Dauin, Negros Oriental, reinforcing leadership engagement, mission alignment, and organizational excellence.

Participated in a Multi-Sectoral Meeting with MARINA Regional Office VI and other maritime stakeholders to strengthen interagency collaboration and discuss measures aimed at enhancing maritime safety and security within the region.

Conducted Troops Information and Education (TI&E) on Marine Safety Investigation (MSI) to all CGDSV Coast Guard Stations and Sub-Stations, enhancing personnel capability in the conduct of maritime safety investigations.

Participated in a Blood Letting Activity, demonstrating the unit's commitment to humanitarian service and community welfare.

Joined Coast Guard District Southern Visayas (CGDSV) Stations and Sub-Stations in manning Passenger Assistance Desks at various ports within the Area of Responsibility in support of Oplan Byaheng Ayos 2026, providing assistance to the riding public and promoting safe, orderly, and convenient travel.

Conducted Coastal Beach Resort Inspections to promote compliance with maritime safety standards and help ensure the safety and security of beachgoers, tourists, and coastal communities.

Conducted Vessel Safety Enforcement Inspections (VSEI) to uphold maritime safety regulations and promote safe vessel operations within the District.

Continues Preventive Maintenance Services (PMS) on established Aids to Navigation (AtoN) to ensure the continued reliability and operational readiness of navigational facilities in support of the safety of life at sea.

Participated in Coastal Clean-Up and Tree Planting Activities in observance of the Day of the Seafarer and Philippine Environment Month, reaffirming the Philippine Coast Guard's commitment to environmental protection, coastal conservation, and sustainable maritime stewardship.

These accomplishments reflect the dedication, teamwork, and commitment of our personnel in carrying out the Philippine Coast Guard's mission. Guided by the PCG ICARE program that is designed to protect coastal populations, ensure maritime safety and enhance disaster response operations.
