SK Mandatory Training continues
152 newly elected SK Chairperson and members attended the Sangguniang Kabataan Mandatory Training held on November 12-13, 2023 at Donya Thelma, Brgy. Capiz, Dolores, Dumalag, Capiz.
Nine barangays completed the 2-day training spearhead by the Local Youth Development Office with its focal person, Mrs. Madelyn F. Tuazon with the assistance of DILG Dumalag, Office of MSWD headed by Mr. Darlie Jay V. Bonilla with the support of LGU Dumalag headed by Hon. Ma. Concepcion Castro. Participants from 19 barangays of the municipality were equipped with different topics that they must do in their respective office.
Speakers were Mr. Arvin O. Villarreal, MLGOO on Decentralization and Local Governance, Mrs. Madelyn F. Tuazon, LYDO/Focal Person on SK History and Salient Features, Mr. Juan Faduga, MPDO on Planning while Mrs. Teresita Badilla, MBO on Budgeting, and Mr. Darlie Jay V. Bonilla, MSWDO I on Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards who tackled the modules.
This SK Mandatory Training is pursuant to RA No. 10742, otherwise known as the "Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015, as amended by RA No. 11768, Chapter V, Capacity Building and Orientation Towards Nation-Building and Empowerment, which mandates that Sangguniang Kabataan officials, whether elected or appointed, or any member of the Local Youth Development Council must undergo the mandatory training programs before he or she can assume office.
With the dedication and perseverance of the Training Team with the expertise of the speakers, the training was a success.
