DTI, SBCorp Roll Out โ‚ฑ4-Billion Fund to Support Small Businesses Amidst Middle East Crisis

DIPOLOG CITY, ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE โ€” The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Small Business Corporation (SBCorp) have opened a โ‚ฑ4-billion fund to help Filipino small business owners affected by the crisis in the Middle East.

This program is built to give Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) the extra cash they need to keep running, grow their business, or fix problems with their supply chains.

To make it easier for business owners to get help, the program offers loans up to โ‚ฑ5 million with no collateral (no property or assets needed as a guarantee). To give businesses time to recover, there is a one-year waiting period before any payments start. Once an application and all the needed requirements are completely submitted, the goal is to have it processed quickly within 7 to 10 days.

The program is open to all MSMEs facing money troubles or supply issues. Applicants only need to provide a valid government ID, a Mayorโ€™s Business Permit, proof of a bank account, and photos of their business.

Interested entrepreneurs can apply online at https://app.sbcorp.ph. For those who need help with the process, you may visit the DTI-ZDN Provincial Office at Government Center, Sta. Isabel, Dipolog City or the nearest Negosyo Center in your area.

Women MSME Survey on International Trade

The DTI-EMB, together with the Australian Governmentโ€™s Regional Trade for Development (RT4D) Facility, is launching an initiative to empower women-led and women-owned businesses (WLBs/WOBs) in the Philippines.

Through the project โ€œGender and Intersectional Research and Capacity Enhancement and Support Networks for Women MSMEs,โ€ we aim to break down barriers preventing women entrepreneurs from fully participating in international trade and maximizing opportunities under free trade agreements. This includes building a national sex-disaggregated database, conducting targeted research, delivering capacity-building workshops, and creating practical knowledge products to support women MSMEs in exporting.

Your insights and experiences are incredibly valuable as they will help shape more inclusive trade policies, better training programs, accessible financing, and export support services tailored to womenโ€™s needs.
Participation is completely voluntary and all information will be kept strictly confidential.
