DTI Negosyo Center Dumangas successfully conducted an Entrepreneurship with Business Planning and Financial Literacy Seminar for ALS Learners organized by ALS Teachers. The event was held at the ALS Center Dumangas Central Elementary School last October 6, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 12:00 NN.

The seminar aimed to equip Alternative Learning System (ALS) learners with essential skills in entrepreneurship, business planning, and financial literacy to empower them towards economic self-sufficiency. Participants engaged in interactive sessions covering business idea generation, market analysis, budgeting, and basic financial management.

Facilitated by business counselor from the DTI Negosyo Center, the seminar also highlighted government programs and support available to budding entrepreneurs. The ALS Teachers played a crucial role in organizing the event and encouraging learners to actively participate.

Learners expressed gratitude for the opportunity to gain practical knowledge that can help them start and manage successful businesses. The seminar marks a significant step towards fostering entrepreneurial spirit among Dumangas’ youth and promoting inclusive growth in the community.

DTI Negosyo Center Dumangas continues to support local capacity building through similar educational activities, ensuring more learners have access to valuable skills and resources.

DTI Negosyo Center Dumangas successfully conducted an Entrepreneurship Development Seminar last September 12, 2025, catering to six Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) from the Municipality of Dumangas, Iloilo. These seminars aimed to equip participants with essential business knowledge and skills, culminating in the creation of their individual business plans.

This entrepreneurship consultancy is conducted for OFWs as one of their requirements for their grant application under OWWA's "Balik Pinas! Balik-Hanap Buhay" program, which is a livelihood support package and assistance for returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who are distressed or displaced.

The DTI Business Counselors of Negosyo Center Dumangas conducted a Financial Literacy and Simple Bookkeeping Seminar for the members of Ang Magagmay nga Mangunguma sa Patlad Ilawod (AMMPI). The seminar was requested and facilitated by Ms. Anileen O. Pajarillo, RiceBIS M&E Lead, and the Team of DA-PhilRice Negros. Also present was Mr. Eugenio D. Decastillo, Jr., Municipal Agriculturist of the Municipality of Dumangas.

The event took place on September 4, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Dumangas-Barotac Mushroom Growers and Processors Association (DBMGPA) Training Center in Barangay Patlad, Dumangas, Iloilo. The seminar aimed to equip the AMMPI members with essential skills in managing their finances and maintaining simple bookkeeping records to improve their agricultural productivity and business operations.

Through this collaborative effort, the DTI and DA-PhilRice Negros continue to support local farmers by providing valuable knowledge and resources that enhance their livelihood and promote sustainable economic growth in the community.

These seminars aimed to equip participants with essential business knowledge and skills, culminating in the creation of their individual business plans.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region VI, including all Provincial Offices and Negosyo Centers in Western Visayas, will be closed on the following dates in observance of national holidays under Proclamation No. 727, s. 2025:
