Demonstrating discipline, teamwork, resilience, and commitment to service, the Basic Citizen Military Training (BCMT) Class 13-2026 of the 2nd Regional Community Defense Group (2RCDG), Reserve Command, Philippine Army, successfully concluded its Field Training Exercise (FTX) on August 31, 2026, at the Model Detachment, 5th Division Training School (5DTS), 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army.
As the final mission of the FTX, the trainees conducted a Company Attack, providing them with an opportunity to apply the fieldcraft, small-unit tactics, leadership, coordination, and decision-making skills they acquired throughout the training. The activity tested their ability to operate as a cohesive unit while demonstrating discipline, teamwork, and determination in accomplishing a mission under a realistic field environment.
Following the successful completion of the Company Attack, the trainees participated in a Tree Growing Activity within the vicinity of 5DTS, 5ID, PA. The activity reinforced the importance of environmental stewardship and highlighted the traineesโ commitment to contributing not only to national defense but also to community and environmental protection.
The FTX culminated with a Boodle Fight, fostering camaraderie, unity, and the spirit of teamwork among the trainees, training staff, and personnel. More than a shared meal, the activity served as a fitting conclusion to their field training experience, celebrating the challenges they overcame and the bonds they strengthened throughout the exercise.
The successful completion of the FTX marks another significant milestone for BCMT Class 13-2026, reflecting their growing confidence, discipline, resilience, and readiness to serve as responsible members of the Reserve Force. The experience gained throughout the training will further prepare them to support national defense, disaster response, community service, and other nation-building efforts.
