Coast Guard Sub-Station Taytay Rescued Six Persons Onboard Distressed Motorbanca at Vicinity Waters Off Pabellon Island, Taytay, Palawan.
ICYMI: Personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station Taytay (CGSS Taytay) together with PNP Maritime Group conducted a Joint Search and Rescue (SAR) Operations on the reported distressed motorbanca with six (6) persons onboard at vicinity waters off Pabellon Island, Taytay, Palawan, last Friday, November 12.
CGSS Taytay received call from Brgy. Kagawad, Mr. Freshian Venturillo, informing about the distressed motorbanca. Immediately, said sub-station made coordination with PNP Maritime Group to organize a joint operations and right after proceeded to the abovementioned area.
The SAR team approached the distressed motorbanca and thereafter rendered necessary assistance and towing the rescued motorbanca with six persons onboard enroute back to port.
Investigation revealed that on November 11, around 11:05 in the evening, they departed Taytay Pier, Brgy. Poblacion enroute to Calabugtong Island, Brgy. Casian however, while transiting at vicinity waters off Pabellon Island, they encountered engine trouble causing their motorbanca to malfunction. The boat captain conducted assessment and troubleshooting but yielded with negative result. Due to rough seas prevailing in the area, their motorbanca was drifted at Tikas Island, Taytay, Palawan.
CGSS Taytay advised the boat captain of subject motorbanca to fix their derangement prior their departure to their point of destination.
