The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2026 indicates that hunger is falling across Southeast Asia. In the Philippines, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Hunger map also indicates that the Prevalence of undernourishment and of moderate or severe food insecurity are also declining. While this proves that deliberate investments in food systems can help fight hunger, a bigger challenge remains: going beyond merely enough calories to survive and making healthy diets affordable for all.

Based on the report, a healthy diet in the Philippines costs USD 4.48 or around PHP 275 per person per day in 2025: that's around 36 to 75 percent of a Filipino worker's daily minimum wage, depending on their region.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations - Philippines remains committed in supporting the Philippine Government in making healthy diets affordable for all.
