Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) reaffirmed its commitment to excellence in human resource management as it successfully conducted the PRIME-HRM Level II Orientation and Readiness Program** today at the NISU Main Campus Little Theatre.

The activity forms part of the universityโ€™s continuing efforts to align its Human Resource Management (HRM) systems with national standards and best practices. The orientation aims to inspire agencies to transform their HRM systems in support of their institutional mandates, empower offices in the effective performance of HRM functions, and establish a strong search mechanism for identifying and sustaining best practices in human resource management.

Serving as resource speaker was Mr. Andre Ladigohon, Director II of the Civil Service Commission Field Office VI. In his comprehensive presentation, Director Ladigohon discussed how the PRIME-HRM system works, its core pillars, and how it can significantly strengthen and professionalize the universityโ€™s HR systems. He emphasized that PRIME-HRM is not merely a compliance requirement but a strategic framework that promotes efficiency, accountability, and excellence in public service.

The program was attended by human resource officers and staff, administrative officers, campus administrators from NISUโ€™s external campuses, deans of colleges, and other key university officialsโ€”demonstrating a collective commitment to institutional readiness and continuous improvement.

Through initiatives such as the PRIME-HRM Level II Orientation and Readiness Program, NISU continues to take proactive steps toward building a responsive, competent, and future-ready workforce in service of its academic community and stakeholders.

Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) continues to enhance the safety and resilience of its campuses following the successful conduct of the 2nd Ad Hoc Committee Meeting on the Formulation of the University Policy on Emergency Response on February 5, 2026, at the NISU Boardroom.

During the meeting, representatives from various campuses presented their existing Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) policies and emergency preparedness practices. These ranged from established DRRM councils and mitigation materials to coordination with local disaster offices, reflecting the diverse approaches currently in place across the university system.

Recognizing the need for a more unified and coordinated response, the committee agreed to consolidate all campus-level policies as the basis for a system-wide Emergency Response Policy. This initiative aims to strengthen coordination, clarify roles, and ensure consistent procedures during disaster and emergency situations.

During the meeting, common disaster risks affecting NISU campuses were identified, including earthquakes, flooding, typhoons, fires, and security-related incidents. Existing emergency equipment and facilities were also acknowledged.

The committee-proposed measures include the establishment of a system-wide incident command system, improved communication mechanisms among campuses, and the designation of key DRRM officials to oversee emergency preparedness and response.

NISU reaffirms its commitment to building a safer, more prepared, and more resilient university community.
