The NFR-NCR proudly presents the Commander’s Cup 2026, happening on May 30–31, 2026, at the Philippine Marine Corps Firing Range. Sanctioned by the Philippine Practical Shooting Association, this is a 5-Stage PPSA Level 1 match open to selected civilians, naval reservists, and regular forces.

More than a competition, this event aims to
✔️ Raise funds for vital HADR (Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response) equipment
✔️ Strengthen disaster response, search & rescue, and crowd control capabilities
✔️ Promote disaster preparedness awareness
✔️ Build camaraderie and community engagement

NFR - NCR Leads Women’s Outreach at Tahanan ng Bagong Pag-asa

In line with the observance of National Women’s Month, the Naval Forces Reserve – National Capital Region (NFR–NCR), under the leadership of CAPT Medardo C. Deacosta Jr., spearheaded a joint medical and legal outreach at Tahanan ng Bagong Pag-asa on 21 March 2026, in partnership with the IBP–Quezon City Chapter led by Atty. Cynthia Corazon G. Roxas.

The initiative delivered medical consultations to 30 female PDL and legal assistance to 50 beneficiaries. NFR–NCR also facilitated the distribution of hygiene kits, medicines, and vitamins to promote the health and welfare of the recipients.

More than providing essential services, the activity highlighted NFR–NCR’s commitment to community service, compassion, and nation-building—reinforcing that these women remain supported, valued, and not forgotten.

Reservists from NFR - NCR and the 7th Marine Brigade of NRCEN–NCR actively took part in the NCR Regional Reservists Convention held on 21 March 2026 at Camp Atienza, Libis, Quezon City.

The activity, organized by the Armed Forces of the Philippines through the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Reserve Force Development, J9, was conducted under the leadership of MGEN GEROLD N GAGAN PAF. It brought together approximately 200 reservists and key stakeholders.

The convention underscored the vital role of the Reserve Force in national defense. Key discussions centered on the Comprehensive Archipelagic Defense Concept (CADC), the situation in the West Philippine Sea, evolving security threats, and the growing significance of reservists in cyber and information operations.

Participants engaged in substantive dialogue on pressing national security concerns, particularly the Philippines’ sovereign rights in the West Philippine Sea and ongoing efforts to safeguard the nation’s territorial integrity.

In his address, Major General Gagan emphasized the imperative of further strengthening the Reserve Force as a core component of the AFP Total Force. He highlighted the importance of sustained engagement, continuous capability development, and robust legislative support to ensure readiness in addressing emerging and future challenges.

The Naval Forces Reserve – National Capital Region (NFR - NCR), under the leadership of CAPT MEDARDO C DE ACOSTA JR. PN (MNSA)(RES), successfully conducted its 2nd Commander’s Guidance Reception on 28 February 2026 at Dimalupig Hall, AFP Commissioned Officers’ Country Club, Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

The activity convened NFR NCR officers and personnel in a formal assembly to strengthen unity of effort, reinforce command direction, and align operational priorities across subordinate units. Through this engagement, participants were provided a common understanding of leadership intent and strategic focus, thereby enhancing organizational coherence and mission effectiveness.

During the Commander’s Call, CDR ANECITO B LUMANTAS PN (GSC), Commander of the Naval Reserve Center National Capital Region, attended and delivered a firm message of support and leadership commitment. He reaffirmed NRC NCR’s dedication to providing clear strategic guidance, sustaining operational readiness, and strengthening coordination among reserve units to ensure the effective ex*****on of NFR-NCR’s mission.

Overall, the activity emphasized the vital importance of cohesive leadership, shared responsibility, and unified action in advancing the objectives of the NFR NCR.

🇵🇭🇺🇸 Strengthening Legal and Moral Readiness Through Partnership

The Naval Reserve Center NCR (NRCen NCR) actively participated in the Legal JAGS Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE) on Maritime Law and Chaplain Religious Support Doctrine held on 18–22 February 2026 at Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo.

This collaborative engagement between AFP officers and military lawyers and the Guam National Guard and Hawaii National Guard focused on enhancing knowledge and operational understanding of:

⚖️ Maritime Law and its application in joint and combined operations
⚓ Legal considerations in maritime security and territorial integrity
🙏 Chaplain Religious Support Doctrine SMEE/Outreach

NRCen NCR proudly sent participants from NFR-NCR and the 7th Marine Brigade, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening legal competence, operational readiness, and international defense cooperation.

Through continued dialogue and professional exchange, the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Guam National Guard deepen mutual understanding and reinforce shared values in upholding the rule of law and regional stability.
