🤝 Empowering Communities, Building Sustainable Livelihoods

The Municipality of Gamay, Northern Samar expresses its gratitude to DSWD Field Office VIII, through the Peace and Development Buong Bansa Mapayapa (PDBBM) – PAMANA Program, for its continuing support to our local communities.

On August 26, 2026, a ceremonial distribution of livelihood assistance checks was conducted for PAMANA Livelihood Program Associations (PLPAs) in Gamay. The activity was headed by Regional Program Coordinator Mr. Erwin Sonio, with Vice Mayor Hon. Clarita P. Gomba, MSWDO personnel, AFP representatives, and officers and members of the beneficiary associations.

More than financial assistance, this program represents hope, opportunity, and empowerment—helping communities build sustainable livelihoods while contributing to lasting peace and inclusive development.

The Municipal Government of Gamay held its Flag Raising Ceremony cm Convocation Program on August 24, 2026, with Police Officer Marjorie Dy as the guest speaker.

In her meaningful message, Officer Dy emphasized the importance of properly raising, guiding, and nurturing our children, recognizing that the values, discipline, love, and opportunities we provide them today will help shape the kind of citizens and leaders they will become tomorrow.

DOLE CONDUCTS TAV IN GAMAY 👷‍♂️📋

Personnel from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) conducted a Technical and Advisory Visit (TAV) among business establishments in Gamay, Northern Samar.

The activity aims to assist establishments in understanding and complying with general labor standards, occupational safety and health requirements, and other labor laws and regulations, while promoting the welfare and protection of workers.

The Municipal Government of Gamay appreciates DOLE’s continuing efforts to guide local employers toward responsible business practices and a safe, fair, and productive workplace.

🤝 LEGISLATIVE LEARNING EXCHANGE | LGU GAMAY WELCOMES LGU LAPINIG

The Municipal Government of Gamay warmly welcomed the delegation from the Municipality of Lapinig, Northern Samar for their Legislative Learning Exchange Activity held on August 26, 2026.

The activity stressed on LGU Gamay’s Local Legislative Award journey and good local legislative governance, providing an opportunity to share experiences, best practices, and strategies that contribute to responsive, effective, and people-centered local legislation.

Sa simula't sapul ng ating kasaysayan,
Bago pa man tayo'y nasakop ng dayuhan,

Ito ang naging tulay ng ugnayan,
Sa bawat diwa't tapat na usapan;
Kasangkapan sa pag-aaral at pananaliksik,
Sa damdamin at isip na malayang umiimik.

Sa bawat salinlahi'y ito'y iniingatan,
Pamana ng kahapon, ilaw ng kinabukasan;
Kaya marapat lamang itong pahalagahan,
Nang sa puso ng lahat ay patuloy na ingatan

Ngunit sa pag-usbong ng makabagong panahon,
Lumalaganap ang talinong artipisyal ngayon;
Bagama't malaking tulong sa maraming layunin,
Hindi dapat maging kapalit ng sariling galing.

Huwag hayaang manaig ang labis na pag-asa,
