29 August 2026 | FIRE GROUND READINESS AND SKILLS PROFICIENCY EXERCISE

IN PHOTOS: Gandara Fire Station personnel, under the supervision of SFO4 Archie D Belida, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, conducted a Fire Ground Readiness and Skills Proficiency Exercise. The exercise aims to assess and improve firefighters' readiness, technical skills, and overall effectiveness in responding to fire and other emergency incidents.

Through realistic fireground scenarios, participants enhanced their proficiency in firefighting operations, teamwork, communication, and decision-making, ensuring they remain prepared to deliver efficient and professional emergency services to the community.

27 August 2026 | DPO/FTO OPERATIONAL READINESS

IN PHOTOS: As part of Gandara Fire Station's Operational Readiness Program, under the supervision of SFO4 Archie D Belida, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, designated operators inspected Engine 01 Morita and Engine 02 Jiangte prior to deployment. The inspection covered mechanical, electrical, and safety systems, including fluid levels, air pressure, brakes, tires, warning lights, and communication equipment. The drivers also conducted a self-assessment to confirm fitness for duty. Both fire apparatus were found serviceable and ready for operational use.

Following the successful completion of the BLOWBAGETS inspection, Fire Truck Operator (FTO), together with crew members, conducted a response route validation exercise using Engine 02 Jiangte. The team traversed designated primary and alternate response routes within the station's area of responsibility to identify road hazards, access limitations, ongoing construction, and potential obstructions that could affect emergency response. The activity enhanced route familiarization, response planning, and crew coordination, ensuring faster and safer deployment of fire apparatus during emergency operations.

24-27 August 2026 | PARTICIPATION IN BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS) TRAINING

IN PHOTOS: Under the direct supervision of SFO4 Archie D Belida, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, FO1 Venancio C Manatad, FO1 Evan P de los Santos, and FO1 Rafaela D Cachero attended the Basic Life Support (BLS) Training conducted by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Gandara, Samar, held on August 24–27, 2026, at Ciriaco Hotel and Resort, Calbayog City, Samar.

The training was facilitated and demonstrated by the Philippine Red Cross, with the aim of enhancing the participants’ knowledge and practical skills in providing immediate and effective life-saving interventions during emergencies. The activity included demonstrations and hands-on exercises on basic life support techniques, enabling the participants to develop the necessary competence and confidence to respond appropriately to medical emergencies and potentially life-threatening situations.
