CALL FOR CLEFT PATIENTS!

The LGU Gandara, together with Operation Smile Philippines and the Province of Samar, invites individuals with cleft lip and/or cleft palate to attend the:

CALL FOR CLEFT LIP AND/OR CLEFT PALATE PATIENTS

The Local Government Unit of Gandara, in partnership with Operation Smile Philippines – Cebu Comprehensive Cleft Care Center of Excellence (OSP-COE), the Provincial Health Office, and the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, is calling for the identification of individuals with cleft lip and/or cleft palate who may benefit from comprehensive cleft care.
🩺 PRE-SCREENING EVENT
📅 September 27, 2026 (Sunday)
📍 Samar Convention Center, Catbalogan City,
Samar

The pre-screening will help assess patients who may be eligible for surgery and identify those who may need further comprehensive cleft care. Free services may include surgery, dental care, speech therapy, nutrition, and psychosocial support, subject to assessment and eligibility.

WHO SHOULD BE IDENTIFIED?
We are looking for ALL cleft lip and/or cleft palate patients in Gandara, including:
Patients who have not yet undergone surgery
Patients who have already undergone surgery but may need further comprehensive cleft care

PATIENT INFORMATION NEEDED
Please provide the following:
• Name
• Age
• Gender
• Type of cleft condition
• Address (Barangay and Municipality)
• Contact Number
• Name and contact number of guardian
(for patients below 18 years old)

Deadline for submission of patient list:
September 18, 2026

The LGU Gandara also hopes to assist identified patients with transportation arrangements to attend the pre-screening in Catbalogan City.

September 4, 2026 | 8th Monthly Liga Meeting

The Liga ng mga Barangay – Gandara Municipal Chapter successfully conducted its 8th Monthly Liga Meeting today at the Liga Hall Building, LGU Gandara, presided over by Hon. Ruby R. Delector, Liga President of Gandara.

During the meeting, Hon. Ruby R. Delector discussed the participation of the barangays in the Fluvial Parade for the upcoming 124th Gandara Annual Town Fiesta, as well as preparations for the Liga Night on September 20, 2026, and other important matters concerning the barangays.

Ms. Mira Korina Bonguit Julaton, MLGOO, provided updates and discussed DILG-related matters and local governance concerns, emphasizing the importance of barangay officials’ cooperation and compliance with relevant programs and directives.

Meanwhile, Ms. Maricris B. Tumandao, Election Officer, conducted an Information Dissemination Activity and distributed flyers containing important guidance on the filing of Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) 2026.

Also, PCpl Ethyl B. Contado, Assistant CAD/BDCP Focal, discussed matters concerning Drug Clearing, highlighting the role of barangay officials in strengthening drug prevention and clearing efforts in their respective communities.

The meeting provided an avenue for coordination, information sharing, and collaboration among barangay officials in support of good governance, public safety, and the continued development of Gandara.

September 2, 2026 | Liga Board Meeting Held

The Liga Board Meeting was successfully conducted today, presided over by Hon. Ruby R. Delector, Liga President, together with Hon. John Anthiny D. Olaje, Liga Vice President, and Hon. Dexter B. Avila, Liga Treasurer.

Also present during the meeting were the following Board Members:
Hon. Rene C. Delector, Hon. Denise T. Martin, Hon. Dariemel D. Romo, Hon. Dionesio S. Bacurio, Hon. Jerome Tolentino, Hon. Jenelyn Delector, Hon. Mark P. Alvarez, and Hon. Rodito Balingbingan.

Among the key agenda discussed were the preparations and participation in the Fluvial Procession for the 124th Gandara Annual Town Fiesta, the pledging of the 1st Prize for the Boat Design Competition, and preparations for the upcoming Liga Night.

The meeting highlighted unity, collaboration, and shared commitment among the Liga officers and Board Members in strengthening the organization and promoting responsive and effective leadership in their respective barangays.

Hon. Ruby R. Delector - Provincial Liga President joined the synchronized distribution of rice assistance under the Bawat Bayan Makikinabang Rice Distribution Program in the barangays of Pizarro, Hiparayan, Piñaplata, Tawiran, Rizal, Canhumawid, Hampton, and San Jose.

Each beneficiary family received 10 kilos of rice, providing additional support for their daily needs.
The activity was made possible through the continued support of Governor Sharee Ann Tan, Vice Governor Arnold V. Tan, and Congressman Jimboy Tan, with the support of LGU Gandara Mayor Warren T. Aguilar.

Hon. Ruby R. Delector - Provincial Liga President joined the synchronized distribution of rice assistance under the Bawat Bayan Makikinabang Rice Distribution Program in the barangays of Pizarro, Hiparayan, Piñaplata, Tawiran, Rizal, Canhumawid, Hampton, and San Jose.

The activity brought 10 kilos of rice assistance closer to families in these communities, providing additional support for their daily needs.
