Ngayong araw ay matagumpay na naisagawa ang ating Nursery Activity kung saan sama-samang nagtanim ng mga halaman ang mga miyembro ng YES-O. 🌱💚

Sa pamamagitan ng simpleng pagtatanim, naipakita ng bawat isa ang pagmamalasakit sa kalikasan at ang kahalagahan ng pagtutulungan para sa mas luntiang kapaligiran. Maliit man ang hakbang na ito, malaking ambag naman ito para sa kinabukasan ng ating mundo.

Patuloy nating alagaan ang kalikasan—dahil ang bawat tanim ngayon ay pag-asa ng bukas. 🌿

𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘮𝘢𝘺 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘬𝘴... 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺'𝘳𝘦 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦!

Did you know that 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐬? These ocean wonders belong to the phylum 𝐂𝐧𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚, making them close relatives of jellyfish and sea anemones.

Each coral is made up of tiny organisms called 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐲𝐩𝐬. They work together to create calcium carbonate skeletons that, over time, form coral reefs that become home to countless marine species.

What makes corals even more amazing is their partnership with microscopic algae called 𝐳𝐨𝐨𝐱𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐞. These algae live inside coral tissues, giving them their vibrant colors and providing food through photosynthesis.

Here in the Philippines, we’re blessed with an estimated 𝟐𝟔,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐬𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐟𝐬, the second largest reef area in Southeast Asia. The country also hosts over 500 species of stony corals (𝐒𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬), including 12 found 𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡.

But these colorful communities are under threat. 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞, 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬, and 𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 are putting corals at risk, making the protection of these underwater architects more crucial than ever.

The Schools Division Office of Nueva Ecija has officially released Division Memorandum No. 524, s. 2025, launching the YES-O Water Conservation Campaign and Handwashing Advocacy: “Tubig ay Ipunin, Kamay ay Linisin.” This initiative strengthens environmental education and hygiene promotion by guiding schools through monthly activities focusing on hand hygiene, water conservation, and sustainability. With the support of YES-O officers, advisers, and various school organizations, this campaign aims to deepen learners’ awareness, encourage responsible environmental practices, and promote proper handwashing for disease prevention. Let us work together in fostering a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable school community.

Did you know that tardigrades, also known as “water bears,” are one of the toughest and most indestructible creatures on Earth? 🐻💪

They can survive extreme heat, freezing cold, radiation, and even outer space! 🚀
When things get rough, they enter a survival state called cryptobiosis, like pressing “pause” on life until it’s safe again. 😴✨

But here’s the twist: even though they’re super tough, they have a weakness — salt water!
Too much salt pulls water out of their bodies, which can lead to dehydration and eventually kill them. 🌊⚠️

Crazy, right? Even the tiniest creatures can be the strongest survivors! 🌍💥

Ang 𝕊𝕚𝕖𝕣𝕣𝕒 𝕄𝕒𝕕𝕣𝕖 ay hindi lamang isang tanawin na dinadayo o pinagmumulan ng preskong simoy. Siya ay isang buhay na kalasag—tahimik subalit matibay, walang ingay ngunit may kapangyarihan. Sa tuwing may bagyo na tumatama sa ating lugar, siya ang kauna-unahang humaharang. Siya ang nagiging harang na humihina sa pagsalubong ng hanging malakas, sumisipsip ng ulan, at pumipigil sa mga panganib na maaaring magdulot ng pagkasira ng libu-libong buhay. Ngunit sa kabila ng kanyang walang kapantay na kabutihan, araw-araw siyang unti-unting ginuguhit, sinisira, at nalilimutan.

Nawawala ang mga puno na nagpapahinga sa kanyang mga kapatagan. Nabubungkal ang mga lupa na dati'y masagana at berde. Nayayakap ang interes at kita bilang isang biyayang nararapat sanang pahalagahan. Hindi natin kinakailangan maging eksperto upang mauunawaan—kapag nawala ang Sierra Madre, mawawala din ang ating likas na proteksyon laban sa sakuna. Kapag ganap na nawala ang kanyang mga puno, aagos ang mga ilog ng tubig-baha, guguhong gaya ng alikabok ang lupa, at tayo mismo ang unang makakaranas ng kanyang pagpanaw.
