GenSan to form Local Land Review, Regulatory and Arbitration Board

The city government is planning to form a Local Land Review, Regulatory and Arbitration Board which will take charge of reviewing landholdings in the city in an effort to resolve land conflicts.
This move is in response to numerous land disputes here in the city which has resulted to misunderstandings and violence among claimants.
Also, alleged fake title were also discovered lately which is suspected to be the handiwork unscrupulous personalities with connections to government agencies involved in the issuance of land titles.
City Councilor Rosalita Nunez recently conducted a committee hearing purposely to discuss this proposal which according to her is the best way to address land conflicts here in the city.
Nunez is the author of proposed City Ordinance No.2014-1023, series of 2014, the measure which will create the LLRRAB.
The LLRRAB is tasked to review from the start of the titling process the documents so that applicants will know whether the land they are applying for title has no other claimant.
Through the Board, fake titles and land disputes can be prevented and at the same time the applicants are protected from the alleged syndicates.
The Local Land Review, Regulatory and Arbitration Board is composed of the following: City Mayor – Chairperson; City Vice Mayor – Vice Chairperson; SP Committee Chairperson on City Land Use – Member; SP Committee Chair on Laws – Member; SP Committee Chair on Urban Poor – Member; Regional Director of NCIP – Member; Regional Director of DENR – Member;
Ang uban pang miyembro mao ang IP representative sa SP; City Legal Office; CPDO; Association of Barangay Captains President and the head of the City Cultural Affairs Office.
