General Santos City posted the highest GDP growth rate among all highly urbanized cities (HUCs) in the Philippines in 2025, growing by 8.0% at constant 2018 prices, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

GDP, or Gross Domestic Product, measures the total value of goods and services produced in an area. In simple terms, it gives an idea of how much economic activity is happening in a city. A higher GDP growth rate means the city’s economy expanded compared with the previous year.

Cagayan de Oro City ranked second at 7.4%, followed by Bacolod City at 6.8% and Iloilo City at 6.1%.

Pasig City and Cebu City both recorded 5.8%, while Baguio City posted 5.6%. Pasay City and Lucena City each grew by 5.5%, followed by Quezon City and Puerto Princesa City at 5.4%.

Makati City recorded 5.0%, while Parañaque City, Davao City, and Butuan City each posted 4.8%.

The PSA released the 2025 Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) covering all 82 provinces and 33 HUCs on August 28, 2026. Overall, all 33 HUCs and 76 provinces recorded year-on-year economic growth from their 2024 levels.

Paglilinaw po sa lahat ng may-ari at operators ng pickleball courts sa General Santos City.

Nais ko pong ipabatid na ang ating Business Permits and Licensing Division (BPLD) ay bukas at handang tumulong sa lahat ng pickleball court owners at operators na nais kumuha, mag-apply, o mag-update ng kanilang business permit.

Maaari po kayong pumunta sa BPLD Temporary Office sa Dadiangas West Central Elementary School, Lunes hanggang Biyernes, 8:00 AM hanggang 5:00 PM, para sa inyong mga katanungan, requirements, at assistance.

Hinihikayat ko po ang lahat na ayusin at i-update ang inyong mga permit at lisensya upang maging maayos at compliant ang inyong negosyo sa mga umiiral na ordinansa at regulasyon ng ating lungsod.

Bukas po ang BPLD para sa lahat ng pickleball court owners at operators.

Ang layunin natin ay gabayan at tulungan kayo para maging legal, maayos, at compliant ang inyong mga negosyo.

Malayag effective August 17, 2026. This initiative aims to inspect and ensure compliance among all pickleball courts, facilities, and operators conducting business without a valid business permit.

To avoid operational disruptions or legal actions, ensure your business permits and licenses are fully updated and displayed.

Affected courts, establishments, operators, please visit BPLD Temporary Office at Dadiangas West Central Elementary School for assistance in applying and securing for appropriate permit.

Following up on initial field inspections, the City Mayor’s Office – Business Permits and Licensing Office (CMO-BPLO), in continued partnership with the Department of Energy (DOE) Mindanao Field Office, remains active on the ground to sustain Fuel Price Monitoring efforts across General Santos City.

Led by Atty. Rowi Arbilon P. Malayag under the guidance of City Mayor Lorelie Geronimo Pacquiao, team members continue to verify pump calibration, check display boards, and audit safety and licensing standards to keep local retailers aligned with national policies.

By maintaining a visible, consistent presence in the field, the City Government and the DOE demonstrate a shared commitment to market transparency, safe LPG distribution, and standard consumer protection for all Generales.
