READ | MEMORANDUM NO. CMO2026-AUG-JMA-0274-A from the City Mayor's Office on the observance of the Regular and Special (Non-Working) Holidays in August 2026.

Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 1006, Series of 2025, the Local Government Unit of General Santos City observes August 21, 2026 (Friday) as Ninoy Aquino Day, a Special (Non-Working) Day, and August 31, 2026 (Monday) as the National Heroes Day, a Regular Holiday.

However, in the exigency of service, government employees and job order workers assigned to offices performing frontline and essential services including health, public safety, traffic enforcement, disaster risk reduction and management, sanitation, and other critical public services shall continue to report for duty and perform their regular functions.

Please be guided accordingly.

Kasalan sa Piitan | Agosto 18, 2026

Tatlong pares na mga Muslim ang kasama sa 17 pares na ikinasal noong Agosto 18, 2026 sa loob ng piitan, bilang bahagi ng programang “Kasalan sa Piitan” na inorganisa ng Local Civil Registry Office, sa pamumuno ng Department Head na si Marlene Pelayo, sa pakikipagtulungan ng Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), sa pangunguna ni J/CSUPT Joe Anthony M. Gargarita, Jail Warden.

Dinaluhan din ang naturang aktibidad ng butihing Mayor, Hon. Lorelie Geronimo Pacquiao.

Ang City Mayor’s Office–Muslim Concerns and Affairs Division (CMO-MCAD) naman ang nag-facilitate sa kasal ng tatlong Muslim na pares, na isinagawa alinsunod sa Islamic rites.

Si Ustadz Ibrahim Andang Jr. ang nagbasa ng Khutbatun Nikah, na nasaksihan nina Ustadz Moctar Alnagan , Ustadz Yusop Butucan at Division Chief Jocelyn Lambac-Kanda,SCL,MPA.

Isang makabuluhang programa na nagbigay ng pagkakataon sa mga PDL na maisakatuparan ang kanilang pagnanais na makapag-asawa at maisabuhay ang kanilang mga responsibilidad sa pamilya, sa kabila ng kanilang kalagayan.
