The improvement of learning outcomes through the implementation of various initiatives under the Teacher Effectiveness and Competencies Enhancement Project (TEACEP) became the highlight of discussions as the World Bank, together with key DepEd personalities, visited Lagao Central Elementary School on Wednesday, February 19.
During the visit, TEACEP project implementers ushered World Bank officials Zafer Mustafaoฤlu, Cristian Aedo, Tara Beteille, and others into discussions with the teachers, as well as classroom observations highlighting the implementation of TEACEP initiatives and how these practices help the school achieve better learning results.
Cristian Aedo, World Bank Practice Manager for the East Asia and Pacific Region of the Education Global Project, specifically highlighted the attitude that teachers demonstrate in implementing TEACEP practices and applauded the success that these initiatives have shown so far.
In the discussion, teachers noted several key TEACEP initiatives that, according to them, have greatly helped in delivering quality basic education to todayโs generation. The integration of Socio-Emotional Learning, in particular, became the highlight of the discussion as teachers observed significant changes among learners following the implementation of said practice.
A ceremonial handover of teaching and learning materials also took place during the visit, where sample electronic tablets were handed over as a symbol of the 16,600 high-quality electronic tablets that TEACEP, with the World Bankโs support, will be delivering to learners in SOCCSKSARGEN, Zamboanga Peninsula, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao within the year.
The visit ended with a cultural show, where guests were entertained by several performances showcasing the rich tri-people heritage of the city.
