The Junior Barangay Officials Program is a youth leadership initiative designed to empower young leaders aged 13 to 17 years old through meaningful participation in community service, leadership development, and local governance. The objectives of the Junior Barangay Officials (JBO) Program reflects the declaration of state policies under the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015, which recognizes the vital role of the youth in nation-building and mandates the creation of enabling mechanisms that ensure meaningful youth participation in local governance and civic affairs. The law also emphasizes youth empowerment, leadership development, and active involvement in community-building initiatives.
