House Bill 00272: Empowering Our Future Doctors and Strengthening Healthcare in GenSan and SOCCSKSARGEN!
Maayong adlaw sa tanan nakong mga pinalanggang Generals! ❤️
I am thrilled to share with you an update on a landmark project that we started together, one that is vital for the future of our city and our entire region. We have filed House Bill No. 00272, an act that will make our very own College of Medicine at Mindanao State University - General Santos City fully independent! 🩺🎓
Unsa man gyud ning House Bill No. 00272 ug ngano importante ni para sa ato? Ania ang summary sa simpleng pinulongan:
Unsa ang House Bill 00272? (What is House Bill 00272?)
This bill is the next step in fulfilling a long-held dream for our city. I am incredibly proud that it was during our tenure as your Representative in the 18th Congress (2019-2022) that we successfully established and opened the MSU General Santos College of Medicine as an extension program of MSU-Marawi.
Now, with House Bill No. 00272, we are taking the crucial next step. This bill will grant our medical school full independence, separating it from MSU-Marawi and officially establishing it as the Mindanao State University - General Santos City College of Medicine! It will finally be our very own, full-fledged institution.
Once passed, it will solidify its status as the FIRST-EVER independent, public, and state-run medical school in all of Region XII (SOCCSKSARGEN)!
Nganong Dako Kini nga Kadaugan para sa GenSan? (Why is this a Big Win for GenSan?)
This is more than just a new building or a new college. This is about opening doors and building a healthier future for all of us. Here’s how it will benefit our community:
MAHIMONG DOKTOR ANG ATONG MGA KABATAAN (Accessible Medical Education for Our Youth)
This is a chance for our deserving youth to become healers and lifesavers.
DAGHANG DOKTOR, MAS MAAYONG SERBISYONG MEDIKAL (More Doctors, Better Healthcare)
By producing our own doctors right here in GenSan, we can address the shortage of medical professionals in our city and region. This means more doctors in our public hospitals, our rural health units, and our barangay health centers. The goal is to ensure that every General, no matter where they live, has access to quality healthcare.
INDEPENDENCE AND PRIDE FOR MSU-GENSAN (Kalayaan at Karangalan para sa MSU-GenSan)
This bill gives MSU-GenSan full control over its College of Medicine—from its curriculum and faculty to its own administration. This is a huge vote of confidence in our beloved university, recognizing its capability to manage a top-tier medical program. It will bring prestige and further establish MSU-GenSan as a center of academic excellence in Mindanao.
SUPPORT FROM THE NATIONAL GOVERNMENT (Suporta gikan sa Gobyerno)
The bill ensures that the College of Medicine will receive proper funding from the national government every year. It even includes a special fund of P10 Million per year for five years to make sure our medical school has the best equipment, facilities, and resources to train our future doctors.
This is our shared dream, and we are working to see it fully realized. A completely independent College of Medicine in MSU-GenSan is a legacy for our children and a cornerstone for a healthier, more prosperous city.
I will work tirelessly in Congress to ensure the swift passage of this bill. I ask for your prayers and your continued support.
Sama-sama kita sa pagkab-ot niining damgo para sa atong pinalanggang General Santos City!
