On June 19, 2026, the City Government of General Trias, through the City Health Office – DRRM-H Team, successfully concluded the Basic Life Support and Standard First Aid (BLS/SFA) Training for City Government Employees and Barangay Staff.

The fifth and final day consisted of the Post-Test Examination and Graded Return Demonstration on the proper management of Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for both infants and adults. Participants demonstrated the knowledge and practical skills they acquired throughout the five-day training, reinforcing their readiness to respond effectively during emergencies.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our instructors from the Cavite Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), Philippine Coast Guard Nursing Services, Philippine Army Reserve Command, and the City Government of San Pedro, Laguna, for sharing their time, expertise, and commitment in making this training a success.

We would also like to express our gratitude to our City Mayor, Vice Mayor, City Councilors, and our City Health Officer for their continuous support in strengthening the emergency preparedness and response capabilities of our City.

On June 18, 2026, the City Government of General Trias, through the City Health Office – DRRM-H Team, continued the fourth day of the Basic Life Support and Standard First Aid (BLS/SFA) Training for City Government Employees and Barangay Staff.

The fourth day marked the beginning of the Basic Life Support (BLS) course, starting with a pre-test examination to assess the participants' baseline knowledge. This was followed by lectures on the fundamental principles of Basic Life Support, including the latest CPR and Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO) algorithms for infants, children, and adults.

Participants also observed live demonstrations on the proper performance of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), management of Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO), and the correct use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)—essential life-saving skills that can significantly improve patient outcomes during emergencies.

On June 17, 2026, the City Government of General Trias, through the City Health Office - General Trias, Cavite – DRRM-H Team, continued the third day of the Basic Life Support and Standard First Aid (BLS/SFA) Training for City Government Employees and Barangay Staff.

We are grateful for the visit of our City Mayor, Hon. Luis A. Ferrer IV, who delivered a message of support and encouragement to the participants, emphasizing the importance of developing life-saving skills and strengthening disaster preparedness within our communities.

The third day consisted of the Post-Test Examination, followed by the practice sessions and return demonstrations on proper bandaging, splinting techniques, and victim lifting methods. Participants were also challenged through a disaster simulation exercise, where they were tasked to assess victims, provide appropriate first aid interventions, and safely transfer patients using teamwork, coordination, and effective communication.

The activity provided participants with an opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills learned during the previous sessions in a realistic emergency scenario, further enhancing their preparedness to respond during disasters and emergencies.

On June 16, 2026, the City Government of General Trias, through the City Health Office – DRRM-H Team, continued the second day of the Basic Life Support and Standard First Aid (BLS/SFA) Training for City Government Employees and Barangay Staff.

The second day focused on the continuation of Standard First Aid, particularly on the proper techniques of splinting injuries and lifting and transferring victims using various methods. Participants underwent hands-on demonstrations and practical exercises to develop the skills necessary to safely manage and transport patients during emergencies and disasters.

These competencies are essential in reducing further injury and ensuring appropriate patient care while awaiting advanced medical assistance.

The City Government of General Trias, through the City Health Office - General Trias, Cavite – DRRM-H Team, officially started the first day of the Basic Life Support (BLS) and Standard First Aid (SFA) Training for City Government Employees and Barangay Staff.

The training will run for five (5) days and prioritizes participants from barangays that frequently experience casualties and emergencies during calamities and disasters. The first three days will focus on Standard First Aid, while the remaining two days will cover Basic Life Support.

The activity commenced with a message of support from our City Health Officer, emphasizing the importance of developing capable responders within our communities and workplaces.

Present during the training are facilitators from the Cavite Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), Philippine Coast Guard Nursing Services, Philippine Army Reserve Command, Municipality of General Mariano Alvarez, City Government of San Pedro, Laguna, and CHO General Trias instructors.

The City Government of General Trias through the City Health Office - General Trias, Cavite - DRRM-H Team successfully conducted the Sub-National Public Health Emergency Management Program (SPHEMP) Orientation for City Health Employees.

The orientation was conducted to strengthen the knowledge and preparedness of health personnel in responding to public health emergencies and disasters. It also highlighted the importance of proper coordination, incident management, surveillance, and emergency response systems to ensure continuous and effective delivery of health services during emergencies.

On April 21, 2026, the City Government of General Trias through the City Health Office - General Trias, Cavite - DRRM-H Team successfully conducted the Basic Life Support (BLS) Refresher Course for City Government Employees at the City Health Office Conference Room.

The refresher course was organized for BLS Providers to refresh and update their knowledge on the latest BLS guidelines and practices.

We would like to extend our gratitude to our City Mayor, Vice Mayor, and City Councilors for their continuous support in making this activity possible. We would also like to thank the Cavite Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (Cavite-PDRRMO) for sharing their time, expertise, and knowledge as facilitators during the activity.

On April 20, 2026, the City Government of General Trias through the City Health Office - General Trias, Cavite – DRRM-H Team successfully conducted the Basic Life Support (BLS) Refresher Course for City Government Employees at the City Health Office Conference Room.

March is Rabies Awareness Month 🐾

On March 25, the City Government of General Trias, through the City Health Office - General Trias, Cavite and the City Veterinary Office- General Trias City, successfully conducted the Rabies Awareness Month Celebration at the Balikatan Covered Court, Barangay Pinagtipunan.

The program featured a brief discussion on Rabies Awareness, along with a special session by Kute Kuts Pet Shop & Grooming. Free anti-rabies vaccination for dogs and cats was provided, as well as free pet grooming services for small pets.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the City Government of General Trias, to our City Mayor and City Vice Mayor, to our City Councilors, especially the City Councilor for Health, and to everyone who participated and supported the event.

Together, let us continue to promote responsible pet ownership and protect our community from rabies.
