Barangay 09 extends its sincere appreciation to MORESCO II and the participating telecommunications companies for the prompt conduct of Operation Baklas, following the Barangay’s request to address the growing concern over tangled and disorganized “spaghetti wires” in the area.

The activity is an important step toward improving the safety and appearance of our streets by removing unnecessary and improperly hanging cables and helping organize existing utility lines.

We are especially grateful to MORESCO II, through Mr. Mark Hurtado, for the immediate response and coordination that made this activity possible.

This initiative shows the importance of strong coordination between the Barangay, utility providers, and telecommunications companies in addressing community concerns.

Thank you to everyone involved for helping make Barangay 09 safer, cleaner, and more organized.

Barangay 09 recently underwent its BESWMC Evaluation, providing an opportunity to showcase our ongoing efforts and initiatives in Ecological Solid Waste Management.

The evaluation highlighted the Barangay’s continuing programs on waste segregation, collection, composting, recycling, waste diversion, and community participation, including our notable practices such as Project NOYBE – Trash to Food Exchange and the Trash Nets Project: Barrier Against Pollution.

We are grateful to the evaluators for taking the time to assess our programs and provide valuable observations and recommendations. The evaluation serves not only as a measure of our progress but also as an opportunity to identify areas where we can further improve.

Thank you to our BESWMC, Barangay officials, functionaries, volunteers, and residents for your continued cooperation and commitment.

Barangay 09 celebrated Breastfeeding Month with a meaningful gathering focused on empowering mothers and strengthening our community’s support for breastfeeding.

The activity featured a Breastfeeding Advocacy Lecture specially geared toward lactating mothers, particularly first-time mothers, providing them with practical information and encouragement for their breastfeeding journey. Information leaflets were also distributed to help mothers take home important reminders and guidance.

A major highlight of the celebration was the reorganization and election of the Barangay 09 Breastfeeding Support Group, which will help monitor and promote the proper use of breastfeeding facilities in the Barangay and serve as a support network for breastfeeding mothers.

The newly elected officers and members are:

Following their election, the newly organized group took their oath of office before Punong Barangay Louie James C. Jaminal, signifying their commitment to support, protect, and promote breastfeeding mothers in Barangay 09.

Our heartfelt thanks to Ms. Melanie Abao, RN, for sharing her knowledge and expertise through the breastfeeding advocacy lecture.

Because breastfeeding support is not only about the mother and baby—it is about building a community that understands, encourages, and supports every breastfeeding journey.

As part of its commitment to responsible and ethical public service, Punong Barangay Louie James C. Jaminal invited Dr. Felixberto C. Condeza, Supervising Administrative Officer of the Office of the City Mayor – Human Resource Management Division, as guest speaker during the 64th Regular Session of the Sangguniang Barangay.

Dr. Condeza discussed the salient policies applicable to government officials and employees, with emphasis on Republic Act No. 6713, or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.

The session provided an opportunity for the Barangay officials to better understand and be reminded of their responsibilities, ethical obligations, and the standards expected of those entrusted with public service.

For Barangay 09, good governance begins with knowing the rules, upholding integrity, and putting public interest first.

All council members were present, except for the SK Chairwoman.

Barangay 09 welcomed another week through our Monday Flag Ceremony, joined by the CVO, members of the Lupon Tagapamayapa, and representatives from the GCPAT and GCRT.

The gathering also served as an opportunity to remind everyone about the upcoming Solid Waste Management Evaluation, where our community’s cooperation and participation will be essential.

We encourage all residents, households, and community partners to continue doing their part in proper waste segregation, disposal, and maintaining the cleanliness of our surroundings.

A clean Barangay 09 is a shared responsibility and every household has a role to play.

Barangay 09 recently conducted a Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Meeting for the Supervised Neighborhood Play (SNP), bringing together parents, teachers, and community partners to look into the progress of our young learners and identify areas that can still be improved.

The meeting also focused on the supplemental feeding program, discussing ways to further strengthen its implementation and ensure that our children receive the support they need.

More importantly, the discussion highlighted the active participation of parents. Their presence, cooperation, and involvement are essential in creating a nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive.
