The staff of the Office of the City Investment Promotion Officer, headed by Ms. Lindy P. Valdevilla, REA, MPA, continued to assist the Department of Trade and Industry Misamis Oriental in the conduct of the Youth Entrepreneurship Program – Be Your Own Boss (YEP-BYOB), a capacity-building initiative aimed at empowering young individuals with the knowledge, skills, and entrepreneurial mindset needed to transform innovative ideas into sustainable business ventures.

Day 2 and Day 3 Highlights

The learning journey continued on Day 2 with a series of insightful modules designed to strengthen the participants’ understanding of business planning, market strategies, and enterprise management. The sessions included:

Module 7: Building Business Blueprint
Module 8: Aid for Success – Government Assistance to Entrepreneurs
Workshop: BUILD – Developing the Business from Plans to Reality
Module 9: Market Smarts
Module 10: Digital Entrepreneurs
Module 11: Operations Made Simple

Participants gained practical knowledge on developing business models, accessing government support programs, understanding consumer markets, utilizing digital platforms for business growth, and managing day-to-day business operations. They were also given the opportunity to apply their learning through the Pitch Deck Presentation Preparation Workshop, where they crafted and refined business concepts, laying the foundation for effective business presentations.

On Day 3, the program focused on essential aspects of business sustainability, financial management, teamwork, and investor communication. The sessions featured:

Module 12: Your Money, Your Business
Module 13: Building the Team
Workshop: PITCH – Communicating the Business Team
Module 14: Sell Your Story: Designing an Effective Pitch Deck

Through these modules and workshops, participants learned the importance of sound financial decision-making, effective team building, leadership, and persuasive communication. They further enhanced their presentation skills by preparing and refining their pitch decks, enabling them to confidently communicate their business ideas and value propositions to potential partners, investors, and stakeholders. The staff of the Office of the City Investment Promotion Officer, headed by Ms. Lindy P. Valdevilla, REA, MPA, actively assisted the Department of Trade and Industry Misamis Oriental in the conduct of the Youth Entrepreneurship Program – Be Your Own Boss (YEP-BYOB), an initiative designed to inspire and empower young individuals to pursue entrepreneurship as a viable career path and source of livelihood.

Day 1 Highlights

The program formally commenced with the Welcome Remarks and Message of Support delivered by Ms. Lindy P. Valdevilla, REA, MPA, who emphasized the importance of nurturing the entrepreneurial mindset among the youth and encouraged participants to seize opportunities for innovation, leadership, and business development. This was followed by the presentation of the program rationale by Judy A. Tangkihay, who discussed the objectives and significance of the YEP-BYOB initiative in fostering entrepreneurship and economic participation among young people.

The first day featured a series of engaging and interactive learning sessions, including:

Module 1: Your First Step as an Entrepreneur
Module 2: Business in Real Life
Module 3: Inside the Mind of an Entrepreneur
Module 4: Market Mapping Meets Customer Empathy
Module 5: Introduction to Design Thinking
Module 6: My Business Idea

Through these modules, participants were introduced to the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, business opportunity identification, customer-centered thinking, and innovative problem-solving approaches. The sessions encouraged creativity, critical thinking, and practical application of entrepreneurial concepts, enabling the youth to develop viable business ideas and gain confidence in pursuing their entrepreneurial aspirations.

The YEP-BYOB program serves as a valuable platform for equipping young individuals with the knowledge, skills, and mindset necessary to become future entrepreneurs and catalysts of economic growth in their communities. By fostering innovation, resilience, and self-reliance, the program aims to empower the next generation to create sustainable livelihood opportunities and contribute meaningfully to local economic development. LPCC Gingoog convened a meeting with all fuel and LPG retail outlets in response to the ongoing fuel crisis and in compliance with the advisory issued by the DILG regarding the monitoring and updating of fuel supplies and prices.
Following the meeting, LPCC Gingoog, together with the Philippine National Police (PNP), conducted fuel price monitoring and prepared reports from all fuel and LPG establishments in Gingoog City. These reports were submitted to the DILG and the Department of Energy (DOE) last March 30, 2026. Gingoog Negosyo Center

The City Investment Promotion Office successfully conducted the Regular Monthly Meeting for all People’s Organizations (POs) benefiting under City Ordinance No. 2021-370. The activity served as a venue to strengthen coordination, provide updates on ongoing livelihood initiatives, and discuss programs that can further support the development and sustainability of the organizations.

The meeting featured two resource speakers: Joy V. Malto, CTEC Coordinator, and Ellen Polo Reyes, DOLE Designate. They shared valuable insights and discussed various skills development, employment facilitation, and labor-related programs that can help the POs enhance their livelihood opportunities and improve their organizational capacity.

The discussion also encouraged active participation among the beneficiaries, allowing them to raise concerns, exchange experiences, and identify possible areas for collaboration and growth.
