It is an all-season educational theme park in the MIMAROPA (Mindoro-Marinduque-Romblon-Palawan) Region. The Location:
The 1.5-hectare theme park is located in Barangay Maligaya, Gloria, Oriental Mindoro, MIMAROPA Region. The town of Gloria is at the center of Oriental Mindoro. Objectives:
To serve as an educational destination for those (including students and educators) who wanted to know more
about Mindoro. To also promote tourism, investment and business opportunities in Oriental Mindoro in general and Gloria, Oriental Mindoro, in particular. It will provide jobs and livelihood opportunities not only in the town of Gloria but also in the whole province. It will seek the accreditation of the Department of Tourism for the Home-Stay Program and Packaged Tours for the other provinces of the MIMAROPA Region. Attractions (during the Kawayanan Festival). The grand launch will be on October 1, 2011 which is Gloria’s Foundation Day:
1. Mindoro Man-Made Lagoon which will showcase Mindoro’s map, a bridge above the map, and a Birds’ Quarter. Activities include boating, fishing, fish feeding, and birds-watching.
2. Historical Nipa Huts which are named after the following: the Province of Oriental Mindoro and its capital, Calapan City; and the Municipalities of Baco, Bansud, Bongabong, Bulalacao, Gloria, Mansalay, Naujan, Pinamalayan, Pola, Puerto Galera, Roxas, San Teodoro, Socorro and Victoria; the Province of Occidental Mindoro and its capital, Mamburao. The nipa huts will feature the history, arts and culture, investment and business opportunities, and the tourist destinations of the above-mentioned provinces, city, and municipalities.
3. Butterflies Sanctuary which will feature various species of butterflies found in the Philippines. Part of the sanctuary is the breeding station and an area where students and visitors will see the life cycle of a butterfly. Framed butterflies will be sold for those who wanted to give a unique gift to their love ones and friends.
4. Medicinal Swim Pool which utilizes special herbal concoctions and are best for those who are health-conscious and sick. Adults and children can also swim in the regular pool.
5. Food and Entertainment Pavilion where several stalls will feature the Philippines’ most popular food and beverages. Cultural and other entertainment shows will be showcased every month until the end of this year and weekly next year.
6. Opportunities and Events Center where a spiritual, feeding and livelihood program as well as free seminars and trainings are conducted on a weekly basis. Special events like wedding, baptism and birthdays can be accommodated at the 240-square meter center. It has an internet cafe and a souvenir shop and pasalubong center where the best products of Oriental Mindoro are sold. The center -- which will be a stop-over destination for those who are travelling via the Nautical Highway – will serve special Mindoro and regular Filipino foods as well as hot (tsaang gubat and sambong with lemon grass) and cold drinks and beverages. Admission fee at the theme park (excluding the Opportunities and Events Center):
P100 for adults and P50 for children (3 feet and below)
Additional P50 for the use of swim pool
20% discount for OFW families, students, teachers, and senior citizens
