CAMSUR GOV. LRAY VILLAFUERTE, INILUNSAD ANG 200-HECTARE CAMSUR UPTOWN BILANG BAGONG TOURISM POWERHOUSE NG BICOL

Opisyal nang inilunsad ang proyektong "Camsur Uptown" matapos magprisenta ng business proposal si Camarines Sur Governor Luis Raymund "Lray" Villafuerte Jr. sa ginanap na launch event sa isang hotel sa Taguig City noong Biyernes ng gabi, August 28.

Ang Camsur Uptown ay idinisenyo bilang isang sustainable na 200-hectare mixed-use ecozone at innovation hub na layong magdala ng makabagong development sa buong lalawigan.

Pangunahing layunin ng malaking proyektong ito na i-boost ang ekonomiya ng Camarines Sur sa pamamagitan ng pag-attract ng mga major investors at malalaking negosyo.

Inaasahan ding magbibigay ito ng malaking tulong sa turismo ng probinsya habang nagbubukas ng maraming moderno at digital job opportunities para sa mga residente.

Sa pamamagitan ng inisyatibong ito, target ng provincial government na i-promote ang mas mabilis na pag-unlad at gawing isa sa mga nangungunang business at technology hub sa rehiyon ang Camarines Sur.

CAMSUR GOV. LRAY VILLAFUERTE AND DILG SEC. JONVIC REMULLA LEADS THE TURNOVER OF UNIFIED 911 EMERGENCY RESPONSE MOTORCYCLES IN BICOL REGION

Camarines Sur Governor Lray Villafuerte joined Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla at the PNP Albay Police Provincial Office for the official turnover of the Unified 911 Emergency Response Motorcycles and the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) Region V 3rd Quarter Meeting.

The turnover marks a significant step forward in streamlining regional emergency services. With the expansion of the Unified 911 system, residents across the Bicol region can access immediate emergency assistance through a single hotline.

During the event, Governor Villafuerte announced plans to establish a dedicated Unified 911 Satellite Command Center in Camarines Sur to further strengthen emergency readiness and local response times. He commended the joint efforts of regional stakeholders, highlighting the partnership among the DILG, PNP Police Regional Office 5 (PRO 5), the 9th Infantry Division, fellow provincial governors, and local government units.

"Ang peace and order, teamwork 'yan. Walang solo," said Gov. Villafuerte. "Ligtas na Bicol = maunlad na Bicol. 'Yan ang deal."

The event reinforces the commitment of national and local government leaders to foster peace, order, and rapid emergency services throughout Region V.

PALPAK AT SUBSTANDARD NA ₱147.6M FLOOD CONTROL SA CANAMAN, CAMSUR NI 3RD DISTRICT CONG. NELSON ‘HAWHAW’ LEGACION, BUMAGSAK MULI ILANG BUWAN PA LANG MATAPOS MAKUMPLETO

Isang ₱147.6-milyong flood control project sa Canaman, Camarines Sur, na kabilang sa mga proyektong sakop ng 3rd District Engineering Office ng DPWH sa distrito ni Cong. Nelson ‘Hawhaw’ Legacion, ang muling bumagsak nitong Miyerkules, Agosto 12, 2026, ilang buwan lamang matapos makumpleto noong Marso. Ikinabahala ito ng mga residente dahil nangyari ang insidente kahit walang bagyo o matinding panahon na tumama sa lugar.

Hindi na rin ito ang unang pagkakataong nasira ang naturang istruktura. Ayon kay Punong Barangay Tobias Abarao, ikalawang beses nang gumuho ang flood control structure, kaya muling umusbong ang panawagan para matiyak ang tibay at kalidad ng mga ginagawang imprastraktura sa kanilang lugar.

Para sa mga residente, nakababahala ang mabilis na pagkasira ng isang proyektong nagkakahalaga ng milyon-milyong piso, lalo na't pangunahing layunin nito ang magbigay-proteksiyon sa komunidad laban sa pagbaha.

Samantala, sinabi ng pamunuan ng DPWH Bicol na tututukan nila ang pagkukumpuni sa nasirang bahagi at tiniyak na walang karagdagang gastos na kakailanganing ilabas ng pamahalaan para rito.

Patuloy namang nangangamba ang mga residente sa posibilidad na masira pa ang ibang bahagi ng flood control project, partikular kapag dumating ang mas malalakas na ulan at bagyo sa mga susunod na araw.

CAMARINES SUR EMERGES AS RENEWABLE ENERGY HUB, EYES 8,000 MW CAPACITY

CAMARINES SUR — Camarines Sur continues to attract major investments in renewable energy as the province strengthens its pipeline of geothermal, solar, wind, and waste-to-energy projects, with a combined potential capacity of up to 8,000 megawatts (MW).

Among the projects being developed is the Mt. Labo Geothermal Power Project in Del Gallego, led by the Philippine Geothermal Production Company (PGPC), with a potential capacity of up to 105 MW. Exploration drilling is currently underway.

The provincial government aims to position Camarines Sur as the Renewable Energy Capital of the Philippines, focusing not only on clean energy generation but also on jobs, businesses, and livelihood opportunities for local communities.

“Renewable energy is not only about megawatts or power capacity. It is about creating jobs, businesses, livelihoods and opportunities for our people. We want to harness Camarines Sur’s natural resources and potential to create long-term and inclusive growth for every community,” said Governor Lray Villafuerte.

The province remains committed to working with investors, the national government, and other stakeholders to promote responsible, sustainable, and investor-friendly development.
