DTI, and BPLO Gonzaga Foster Digital Readiness Among Gonzaga Resort Owners
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Negosyo Center – Gonzaga, in partnership with the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Gonzaga, conducted the Webpage Design and Cascading of ILO Modules on August 28, 2026, in the People's Gymnasium Smart, Gonzaga, Cagayan, aimed at strengthening the digital capabilities of local resort owners and tourism enterprises.
The activity featured resource speakers from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT). Ma’am Jasmine Macabangun, PDO I, introduced participants to the basics of Canva, providing practical tips on creating visually appealing digital content for business promotion. Meanwhile, Sir Deejay Anapi, PDO II, guided the participants through the fundamentals of webpage creation and design, demonstrating how digital platforms can help tourism enterprises establish a stronger online presence and reach more potential customers.
The activity was graced by Vice Mayor Sherryl Gaspar, who delivered an inspirational message, encouraging participants to embrace digital tools and continuously improve their enterprises. Municipal Tourism Officer Sir Jundel John Benavidez-Cabanela, LPT, MBA, represented by Sir Darwin Catubay, delivered the welcome remarks and emphasized the importance of digitalization in strengthening Gonzaga’s tourism sector.
Also present during the activity were members of the Sangguniang Bayan and Sir Rogelio Sinco, LTOO II, who showed their support for initiatives promoting digital transformation and enterprise development among local tourism stakeholders.
Meanwhile, DTI Negosyo Center – Gonzaga Business Counselor Mara Sheidee Valiente introduced the basics Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications, its benefits and risks, and the importance of responsible and proper AI usage remaining mindful of accuracy, privacy, and responsible use.
Through this collaborative initiative, DTI, BPLO, DICT, and the LGU Gonzaga continue to empower local tourism enterprises with practical digital and AI skills—helping them adapt to the evolving digital landscape and build a more competitive and digitally connected tourism industry in Gonzaga.
