The Municipal Anti Drug Abuse Council (MADAC), MSWDO, 4P's and MHO conducted lectures at brgy. Tandang Sora, Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental.

MADAC staff - Jesmar Paul G. Quintanilla & Melba V. Guillena, tackled about the Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous act of 2002 and the role of MADAC in our community also mentioned the effects of using illegal drugs and the best intervention, prevention & promotion.

The program aimed to inform the public about how rampant drug is, educate the community on the dangers of illicit drug use, and inspire them to support the LGU effort curb drug use, particularly in areas of GovGen.

The Municipal Anti Drug Abuse Council, MSWDO, 4P's and PNP conducted lectures about R.A 9165 & R.A 9262.

It's important for communities to come together and educate themselves about laws that help combat crime and promote safety. R.A. 9165, also known as the "Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002," is a significant legislation in the Philippines that addresses the issue of illegal drugs. It aims to prevent and control the proliferation of dangerous drugs, as well as rehabilitate drug dependents. It is the policy of the State to safeguard the integrity of its territory and the well-being of its citizenry particularly the community, from the harmful effects of dangerous drugs on their physical and mental well-being, and to defend the same against acts or omissions detrimental to their development and preservation.

On the other hand, R.A. 9262, also known as the "Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004," is another crucial law that focuses on protecting women and children from violence and abuse. This law recognizes the rights of women and children to be free from violence, and it provides legal measures to address cases of abuse, harassment, and discrimination.
By conducting lectures and raising awareness about these laws, the Municipal Anti Drug Abuse Council, Municipal Social Welfare Office and Governor Generoso Police Station are taking proactive steps to reduce crime in our municipality.
