JORDAN, Guimaras — August 20, 2026 — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Guimaras continued its efforts to help local businesses embrace digitalization through the second conduct of GO DIGITAL: Boosting MSME Growth, held at the Local Government Unit of Jordan. The activity gathered 18 participants from Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), cooperatives, and associations, providing them with practical digital skills to promote their businesses, reach more customers, and increase sales.

In his opening message, AARD Romel L. Amihan, Concurrent Provincial Director of DTI Guimaras, encouraged the participants to remain open to digitalization, emphasizing that it is no longer an option but a necessity for businesses to remain competitive. He urged the MSMEs to take the opportunity seriously and continuously learn, to improve their businesses with the guidance and support of DTI.

Hon. Atty. John Edward Gando, Mayor of Jordan, expressed his support for the participating MSMEs and DTI’s continuing efforts to strengthen local businesses. He also shared the municipality’s digitalization projects and other plans aimed at making services and business processes easier and more accessible. He reaffirmed his support for DTI initiatives that benefit the local business community.

The Digital Marketing session, facilitated by Rejoice Orquia, introduced participants to practical ways of promoting their products and connecting with customers online. Participants applied their new knowledge through hands-on activities led by Ruth Penuela, with the assistance of DTI staff. They created Facebook Business Pages, designed promotional materials and business cards using Canva, learned how to use GCash for business transactions, and practiced going LIVE on social media to showcase their products.

In her closing message, Juvy D. Benliro encouraged participants to use their new skills and digital tools daily to improve operations and create new business opportunities

The activity demonstrated that going digital can start with simple, practical steps. For Jordan’s MSMEs, these steps can lead to greater visibility, more customers, and more opportunities for business growth.
