This milestone institutionalizes the conduct of our very own Project BASA Kabataan: Building Understanding Literacy and Active Discovery" program, making it an annual barangay initiative with dedicated funds for its implementation!

๐Ÿ’ก๐–๐ก๐š๐ญ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฃ๐ž๐œ๐ญ ๐๐€๐’๐€ ๐Š๐š๐›๐š๐ญ๐š๐š๐ง?

It is a 10-week fun reading and numeracy program held every Saturday or Sunday, specifically designed to help and support our local children and youth in developing essential reading, mathematics, and comprehension skills.

What to expect:

* Interactive literacy and numeracy sessions
* Free learning materials and school supplies
* Snacks for all young participants during sessions
* Strong partnerships with our local schools and youth volunteers

Through this ordinance, the Sangguniang Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) and the Barangay Council guarantee that our commitment to education is sustainable, well-funded, and here to stay for the succeeding years. We are actively countering learning gaps and building a brighter, more literate future for the youth of Bulad!

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the Sangguniang Bayan of Guimbal, led by Municipal Vice Mayor Christine "Tingting" S. Garin, Committee Chairperson Hon. Reina Paz Alipao, and the rest of the SB Members for reviewing and approving our ordinance. Special thanks also to our Punong Barangay Hon. Rey Angelo G. Gonzales, SK Chairperson Hon. Mike Anthony Taltal, the Barangay Kagawads, and SK Officials for making this vision a reality.

In a vibrant celebration of academic growth and community spirit, the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Barangay Bulad officially concluded the second year of its flagship literacy program, Project BASA KABATAAN: Building Understanding, Literacy, and Active Discovery.

The culmination ceremony, held recently at Barangay Bulad Gymnasium,marked the end of an intensive 18-week program designed to bridge the gap in literacy and numeracy among local youth.

Strengthening the Foundation of Learning
For the past four months, every Saturday has been transformed into a hub of "fun and exciting" learning. Moving beyond traditional classroom methods, the project utilized interactive games and creative activities to keep students engaged.

This yearโ€™s implementation saw a significant collaborative effort, as the SK of Barangay Bulad joined forces with the SK of Barangay Anonoo, showcasing a unified front for youth development in the municipality.

Aligned with Project Garin
The initiative continues to serve as a grassroots localized version of the municipality's broader educational vision, Project Garin. By aligning with the municipal government's commitment to quality education, the SK officials have ensured that the youth of Bulad and Anonoo are not left behind.

Project BASA KABATAAN is our way of sustaining the momentum of Project Garin at the barangay level. We are now in our second year, and seeing the progress of these children proves that consistent intervention works, stated the SK leadership.

The graduation was attended by proud parents and local leaders, highlighted by the presence of Mrs. Emma Gonzales, the supportive School Head of PG Garin Memorial Elementary School. Mrs. Gonzales praised the SK's dedication to supplementing the formal education system with sustainable community-led programs.

As the 18 weeks of sessions come to a close, the organizers emphasized that while the formal sessions have ended, the Active Discovery phase for these students is just beginning. With the success of Year 2, the community looks forward to more years of empowering the next generation of Guimbalenos through the gift of reading and mathematics.
