SWM Focal Person Mr. Orlando Basco Jr., together with Ms. Alpha May Garingalao of MENRO, successfully conducted a Solid Waste Management Orientation for the elected and appointed officials of Barangays Bongol San Miguel and Nahapay.

The orientation highlighted the importance of Republic Act 9003, proper waste segregation, waste reduction, recycling, composting, and the vital role of every household and barangay in maintaining a clean and healthy environment. Participants actively participated in the discussions and demonstrated their commitment to strengthening solid waste management practices in their communities.

Together, let us continue promoting responsible waste management for a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Guimbal.

From June 1–5, 2026, in support of Brigada Eskwela 2026 and in celebration of Environment Month, the Kagawad on Environment, in coordination with the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), actively participated in the clean-up, repair, and beautification activities at the school.

This initiative highlights the importance of environmental stewardship, volunteerism, and community cooperation in creating a clean, safe, and learner-friendly environment for our students.

Through the spirit of bayanihan, we continue to work together in building better schools and a greener, more sustainable future for all.

This initiative is part of the Mag SegreGREAT Kita Program, spearheaded by SWM Focal Person Orlando Basco Jr., promoting proper waste segregation, recycling, and environmental responsibility within our communities.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to the residents of Brgy. Bagumbayan for your efforts in segregating and selling recyclables contribute to a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Guimbal.

📍 𝗦𝗪𝗠 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆𝘀

SWM Focal Person Mr. Orlando Basco Jr., together with MENRO staff Ms. Alpha May Gariangalao, conducted a Solid Waste Management (SWM) Orientation for the elected and appointed officials of Barangays Iyasan, Nito-an Lupsag, and Anono-o.

The orientation focused on RA 9003 (Ecological Solid Waste Management Act), proper waste segregation, and the different types of waste: biodegradable (madunot), recyclable (mapuslan), residual (indi mapuslan), and special waste.

The Bring Your Own Bag (BYOD) Campaign was also promoted to reduce plastic waste, along with the “SegreGREAT Kita” Program, particularly the Mobile Junkshop Day, which generated excitement among the participants.

Naga pasalamat gd kmi sa aton mga mapisan and dedicated elected and appointed officials of Barangays Iyasan, Nito-an Lupsag, and Anono-o for your active participation and commitment to proper solid waste management.

Several barangays (Libo-on Gonzales, BSV, Rizal-Tuguisan, Girado-Magsaysay, Torreblanca and Nalundan ) have successfully sold their collected recyclables to First Apo Junkshop.

This initiative reflects the strong commitment of our communities to proper waste segregation, environmental protection, and sustainable solid waste management. 👍

Another successful Mobile Junkshop Day was conducted in Brgy. Baras! Various recyclable materials were sold to First Apo Junkshop, including PET bottles, clear glass, cans, mixed plastics, and many more. ♻️

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Barangay Council headed by PB Glenda Gemal, the Kagawad on Environment Richelio Gicana, and all the residents for their active participation and great support in making this activity successful.
