🌾 CGIAR–IRRI COLLABORATION ON RICE BREEDING TRIAL
📍 Guindulman, Bohol
📅 August 25–28, 2026

The Office of the Agricultural Services(OAS) Guindulman, in collaboration with CGIAR–International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) and Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA- Bohol), successfully conducted a four-day field activity for the Multilocation Rice Breeding Trial in Guindulman, Bohol.
The activity focused on the preparation, establishment, and planning of the different rice trial and lodging set-ups:

🌱 August 25, 2026
Morning: Preparation and construction of seedbeds for the Yield Trial.
Afternoon: Arrival of guests, discussion and planning, and transfer of Lodging Set-up 1 to the rice area.

🌱 August 26, 2026
Pulling of seedlings from Lodging Set-up 1, followed by field layouting and labeling.

🌱 August 27, 2026
Transplanting of seedlings for Lodging Set-up 1 and reseeding of the Yield Trial.

🌱 August 28, 2026
Discussion and planning with the IRRI team for the layout and implementation of the Yield Trial and Lodging Set-ups 2 and 3.

“Protecting our coastal and marine resources is not only a responsibility—it is a shared commitment for the future of our communities.” 🌊🐟

The Fisheries Coastal Resiliency (FishCoRe) Project, in coordination with the Local Government Unit of Guindulman, successfully conducted the 3-Day Fish Warden Deputation Training at the Marine Sanctuary, Basdio, Guindulman, Bohol.

The training was participated by four (4) qualified and dedicated individuals from each of the seven (7) coastal barangays of Guindulman, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to help protect, conserve, and sustainably manage our municipal waters and coastal resources.

Through this initiative, we strengthen community participation in fisheries law enforcement and promote collective responsibility in safeguarding our marine resources for the present and future generations. 💙🌊

🌾 Training on Rice Production Using the Palay KeyCheck System 🌾

The Office of the Provincial Agriculturist – Bohol, in collaboration with the Municipal Agriculture Office of Guindulman, successfully conducted a Training on Rice Production Using the Palay KeyCheck System for the members of the Bayong Small Farmers Irrigators Association.

The activity aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of rice farmers on the Palay KeyCheck System by promoting recommended rice production technologies and best management practices to improve productivity, profitability, and sustainability in rice farming.

The Municipal Agriculture Office extends its sincere gratitude to the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, the Bayong Small Farmers Irrigators Association, and all participants for their active participation and commitment to learning.
