Another productive day in the field as we conducted Operation Timbang Plus (OPT) and Data Quality Check (DQC) in four (4) selected barangays, strengthening our commitment to accurate, reliable, and quality nutrition data. 💪📋

This activity was made more meaningful through the valuable partnership and technical support of UNICEF, particularly Sir KL Villagracia, whose guidance and expertise helped strengthen our data validation and nutrition monitoring efforts. 🤝💙

Through collaboration among our Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS), Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), health workers, and local partners, we continue to ensure that every child is properly assessed and that nutrition data serves as a strong basis for responsive programs and interventions. 👶📈

A meaningful and empowering day dedicated to our pregnant women and mothers-to-be! 🌸 Through the collaborative efforts of our healthcare providers, the doctors and medical team of MRH, we continue to promote safe pregnancy, healthy motherhood, and better health outcomes for every mother and baby. 👩‍🍼👶

AWARENESS!!!!

Amo nga gipahibalo ang tanan nga ang atong mga kargamento sa RUTF (Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food) ug RUSF (Ready-to-Use Supplementary Food) nga nakatagana alang sa mga bata nga malnourished ug sa mga inahan, ug gitago sa atong bodega sa Nutrition Office, gipang-kawat.

Kini nga mga tambal ug pagkaon gidesinyo lamang alang sa medikal nga panginahanglan sa mga pasyente nga kulang sa timbang ug dili pwedeng basta-basta kan-on isip ordinaryong meryenda tungod sa peligro sa kahimsog kon masubraan.

Ang pagpasobra sa pagkaon sa RUTF (Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food) ug RUSF (Ready-to-Use Supplementary Food) kay makadala ug mga mosunod nga epekto:

! Sakit sa tiyan ug kalibanga: Taas kaayo kini og tambok ug asukal, busa lisod hilison sa tiyan kon madaghan ug mahimong hinungdan sa pagkalibang o pagsakit sa tiyan.

! Sobra nga pag-uswag sa timbang (Obesity): Binuhat kini alang sa kulang sa timbang tungod sa taas nga kaloriya. Kon kan-on kini sa tawo nga sakto na o sobra na ang timbang, makatambok kini og maayo.

! Subra nga bitamina ug mineral (Toxicity): Taas kini og konsentrasyon sa micronutrients (parehas sa Vitamin A ug Iron). Kon masubraan, pwedeng makahilo o makadaut sa atay ug kidney.

! Dehydration: Tungod kay lapuyot ug gamay ra og tubig ang RUTF/RUSF, nanginahanglan kini og dugang nga tubig sa lawas para maproseso.

Nagpadayon na ang imbestigasyon bahin sa kining nahitabong pagpangawat. Giawhag ang bisan kinsa nga may impormasyon o makakita makig-alayon dayon sa lokal nga mga awtoridad o sa Nutrition Office.

Pahinumdom: Ang RUTF ug RUSF kay gituyo isip tambal o reseta nga pagkaon, dili kay ordinaryong meryenda.

In celebration of Nutrition Month, LGU Guipos proudly celebrates the 4th year of the KAABAG SA KAHIMSOG Supplemental Feeding Program—sustained through community-wide collaboration to eradicate child malnutrition, monitor growth, and educate caregivers on optimal health and sanitation practices.

Model Home 2026 winners identified by the PMNP team! Thank you for setting an inspiring benchmark with your dedication to proper sanitation, hygiene, and home nutrition. To reward their commitment, our PMNP funded a complete grocery package—including half a sack of rice, fresh fruits, vegetables, a whole chicken, cooking oil, and a tray of eggs! 🐔🥚🍚

Special thanks to Municipal Mayor Vicente P. Cajeta, Atty. Day Two is officially complete—and the search for the Model Homes of 2026 has officially wrapped up! 🌦️🏡🏆

Over the past two days, the Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Project (PMNP) team journeyed across our target barangays in the Municipality of Guipos, evaluating homes on Health & Nutrition, Sanitation & Hygiene, and Environmental Sustainability.

Today’s journey was both challenging and deeply memorable. From scorching heat to sudden rain, our team braved every turn, immersing ourselves in the community and walking alongside our local residents. Through every step, our goal remained clear: to demonstrate that when Nutrition, Hygiene, and Environmental Sustainability come together, they create a truly Healthy Home. 💚

Day One complete, celebrating health, nutrition, and sustainability from the ground up! 🥗🏡🌱

As part of this year’s Nutrition Month celebration, the Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Project (PMNP) team in the Municipality of Guipos hit the ground running, kicking off our evaluation across our four target barangays: Balongating, Canunan, Bagong Oroquieta, and Barangay Guling.

A massive thank you to our dedicated panel of judges, who braved challenging roads and tough journeys today to ensure a fair and thorough evaluation! Our heartfelt gratitude also goes out to all the local leaders, purok representatives, NDPs, BNS, BHW, and families who welcomed us with warm smiles, impressive backyard gardens, and inspiring setups.

With proud representatives from every purok showcasing exemplary practices in Health & Nutrition, Sanitation & Hygiene, and Environmental Sustainability, the competition was fierce—but one outstanding barangay rose to the top, sweeping all Top 3 spots for the Model Homes of 2026! 🏆✨

Ang breastfeeding ay hindi lang responsibilidad ni Mommy, ito ay sama-samang pag-aaruga ng buong pamilya at komunidad! 💛

Narito ang ilang paraan para makasuporta:
🏡 Tulungan si Mommy sa mga gawaing bahay upang makapagpahinga siya at makapag-focus sa pagpapasuso.
🤝 Lumapit sa inyong BHW at BNS, at makilahok sa mga breastfeeding at mother support groups sa inyong barangay.
🏥 Samahan si Mommy at Baby sa regular na pagpapacheck-up sa Health Center upang matiyak na sila ay nananatiling malusog.

Usa ka dako ug malampuson nga paghuman sa atong Nutrition Month Celebration 2026!

Through the collaborative efforts of our Local Government Unit (LGU) and local Health Unit (LHU), we dedicated the entire month of July to nourishing our children, strengthening our community, and caring for our environment.

Highlights of Our July Activities:
- House-to-house Visits: A 3-day targeted visit to the homes of our selected undernourished children to assess and extend hands-on care.

- Fun Run Kick-off: We opened the month with high energy and lots of smiles through our Fun Run, featuring the crowd-favorite "Wrong Outfit" Theme!

- Environmental Stewardship:
Understanding that good health requires a clean environment, we held a Tree Planting Activity and a Clean-up Drive. Caring for Mother Nature and keeping our surroundings clean is vital to proper nutrition!

- 22-day Feeding Program (July 7-31, 2026): 21 selected undernourished children successfully completed their intensive feeding program!

- Culmination Day & PMNP Turn-over: As we celebrated the recovery of our 21 graduates, we also kicked off the next phase for 21 newly identified children with MAM through the support of the Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Project (PMNP). These children received eggs, champorado, oats, cherifer, and a 3-month follow-up feeding program.

We are immensely proud that Guipos is the only municipality in Zamboanga del Sur taking this unique and proactive stance against childhood malnutrition and stunting.

To our incredible healthcare workers, LGU, partner agencies, and donorswho provided delicious, nutritious meals and unwavering support-DAGHANG SALAMAT! Seeing the joy on our children's faces as they enjoyed their food made every effort worth it.

A very special thank you to our supportive father of Guipos, Mayor Vicente P. Cajeta, and our equally supportive Municipal Administrator, Att. Kurt Atty. Kurt "Kokoy" Cajeta!
