LOOK 📸 | ESSU GUIUAN ROTC UNIT CONDUCTS CLEAN-UP DRIVE IN SUPPORT OF CAMPUS ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

On 08 August 2026, the ESSU Guiuan ROTC Unit conducted a Clean-Up Drive at the ESSU Guiuan Campus, Brgy. Salug, Guiuan, Eastern Samar, as part of its continuing commitment to community service, environmental stewardship, and the development of disciplined and responsible citizen-soldiers.

The activity was conducted under the supervision of SGT Ryan M Caranyagan, Graduate Military Assistant, together with four (4) Graduate Military Assistants (GMAs). The clean-up operation was led by C/MAJ Bryan E Tobes, 1CL, with the active participation of thirty-four (34) aspiring ROTC officers and four (4) Second Class Cadets.

Executed with discipline, teamwork, and military precision, the activity demonstrated the cadets' dedication to maintaining a clean, safe, and conducive learning environment. Through their collective efforts, the participants exemplified the Army ROTC core values of honor, duty, patriotism, and selfless service.

The Clean-Up Drive also served as a practical application of leadership and civic responsibility, reinforcing the importance of volunteerism and community involvement among future leaders. Such activities contribute significantly to the holistic development of cadets by instilling discipline, initiative, and a strong sense of accountability to the community.

The ESSU Guiuan ROTC Unit remains steadfast in its mission of molding competent, disciplined, and service-oriented cadets who are prepared to contribute meaningfully to nation-building and community development.

LOOK | 🎥 ESSU GUIUAN ROTC UNIT CONDUCTS MILITARY RECRUITMENT ORIENTATION FOR FUTURE SERVANT-LEADERS

On 01 August 2026, during the scheduled Saturday Instruction, the ESSU–Guiuan ROTC Unit, under the leadership of CPT ALVIN B LACABA PA (RES), Commandant, together with SGT FRANCIS S ABUG (INF) PA, Tactical NCO of ESSU SALCEDO and Sgt Ryan M Caranyangan PA (Res), Graduate Military Assistant (GMA), successfully conducted a Military Recruitment Orientation for the cadets and cadettes of the unit.

The activity was supported by fourteen (14) Advance ROTC Cadet Officers headed by C/COL FRANCINE LUJILLE I JANDOC, 1CL, Corps Commander of the ESSU Guiuan ROTC Unit, demonstrating their commitment to leadership and service.

The orientation was facilitated by SSG ELIZARDO O TANGAPA (CE) PA and attended by one hundred forty-seven (147) Basic ROTC Cadets, composed of ninety-one (91) female and fifty-six (56) male cadets, held at the Tennis Court of ESSU Guiuan Campus, Brgy. Salug, Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

During the activity, the cadets were oriented on the various opportunities available in the Armed Forces of the Philippines, including the qualifications, recruitment process, benefits, and career paths for aspiring military personnel. The lecture served as a platform to inspire the youth to embrace the noble profession of arms and to strengthen their commitment to patriotism, discipline, leadership, and selfless service to the nation.

Through activities such as this, the ESSU Guiuan ROTC Unit continues to develop competent, motivated, and service-oriented young leaders who are ready to answer the call of duty and contribute to the defense and development of the Republic of the Philippines.

Demonstrating discipline, honor, and military excellence, five (5) Advance ROTC Cadet Officers of the ESSU Guiuan ROTC Unit successfully rendered the Entrance of Colors during the BS EDUCATION Convocation held on 03 August 2026 at the Covered Court, ESSU Guiuan Campus, Brgy. Salug, Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

Under the supervision of C/MAJ ANECITO Q PAGADORA JR., 1CL, PA (RES), the ceremonial detail was led by C/CPT JOHN HERMES VITOR, 2CL, who served as the Color Officer.

The Entrance of Colors was executed with precision, discipline, and military bearing, reflecting the dedication and professionalism of the ROTC cadet officers. Through their exemplary performance, the cadets upheld the traditions of military service while instilling a spirit of patriotism and respect throughout the ceremony.

LOOK 🎥 | SHARPENING MINDS, STRENGTHENING DISCIPLINE: ESSU–GUIUAN ROTC UNIT CONDUCTS INSTRUCTIONAL LECTURES FOR BASIC CADETS

On 01 August 2026 at 0730H, the ESSU–Guiuan ROTC Unit successfully conducted a series of instructional lectures during its scheduled Saturday Instruction at the Tennis Court of ESSU–Guiuan Campus, Barangay Salug, Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

The activity was spearheaded by CPT ALVIN B LACABA PA (RES), Commandant of the ESSU–Guiuan ROTC Unit, together with Sgt Francis S Abug (INF) PA, Tactical NCO of the ESSU-Salcedo (Activated) Unit, Ryan M Caranyangan PA (Res), Graduate Military Assistant, and fourteen (14) Advanced ROTC Cadet Officers led by C/COL FRANCINE LUJILLE I JANDOC 1CL, Corps Commander of the ESSU–Guiuan ROTC Unit.

As part of the unit's continuing effort to develop disciplined, competent, and service-oriented citizen-soldiers, CPT ALVIN B LACABA PA (RES) delivered a comprehensive lecture on Military Courtesy and Discipline. The discussion emphasized the significance of military customs, proper decorum, respect for authority, and adherence to established rules and regulations. Cadets were reminded that military courtesy is not merely a tradition but a reflection of professionalism, mutual respect, and esprit de corps. Likewise, the lecture highlighted discipline as the foundation of an effective military organization, enabling individuals to perform their duties with integrity, accountability, and dedication even in the most challenging circumstances.

Following the lecture, C/COL FRANCINE LUJILLE I JANDOC 1CL conducted an informative discussion on Philippine Military History, providing cadets with a deeper appreciation of the country's rich military heritage. The lecture traced the evolution of the Philippine military from the struggles of Filipino revolutionaries during the fight for independence to the establishment and modernization of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. Cadets learned about the sacrifices, heroism, and unwavering commitment of Filipino soldiers who defended the nation throughout various periods of history. The discussion also underscored the importance of preserving the legacy of courage, patriotism, and selfless service demonstrated by generations of military personnel.

The lectures were attended by ninety-one (91) female and fifty-six (56) male ROTC cadets, with a total attendance of one hundred forty-seven (147) Basic Cadets of ESSU–Guiuan.

Through activities such as these, the ESSU–Guiuan ROTC Unit continues to strengthen the leadership, discipline, patriotism, and civic consciousness of its cadets. By instilling military values and fostering a deeper understanding of the Armed Forces proud history, the unit remains committed to shaping future leaders who are prepared to serve their communities and contribute to nation-building.
