Mayor Annaliza Gonzales-Kwan of LGU-Guiuan led the celebration of the 128th Philippine Independence Day by laying a wreath in honor of the nation's fallen heroes, together with OIC, PNP-Guiuan, PCPT Arvin Noroña, at the Guiuan Town Plaza today, June 12.
“Let us never forget that the true meaning of freedom is our shared responsibility. Let us not only inherit our country's freedom but also protect it every day. Let us take pride in our heritage, stand tall as Filipinos, and work together in shaping a better Philippines,” Mayor Annaliza emphasized during her keynote address.
She further added, “I hope that all of us, especially as public servants, will learn to set aside our personal interests, even just a little, and think of the greater good. After all, when we work for a greater purpose, we are preparing Guiuan for a better future. We are helping raise a generation of Guiuananon children who are dignified, honorable, and guided by integrity. Through our efforts, we continue to bring honor to our beloved Guiuan, for this is the only hometown that will help shape our future.”
Also present during the event were SBM Poly Bagro, SBM Franzdale Somoray, SBM Rogelio Cablao, personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Philippine Coast Guard, barangay officials and LGU employees. (LBG)
