The Municipality of Hernani, Eastern Samar, under the leadership of Mayor Amado L. Candido, together with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the Rural Health Unit (RHU), conducted a coordination meeting last Monday to plan and prepare for the upcoming Loop PH: Leyte–Samar Loop event on June 28.

THE MUNICIPALITY OF HERNANI JOINS THE NATION IN CELEBRATING THE 128TH PHILIPPINE INDEPENDENCE DAY

The celebration began with a motorcade participated in by officials and employees of Local Government and National Government Agencies, followed by a short program at the Municipal Town Plaza.

Highlights of the program included the Welcome Message by Vice Mayor Dr. Socorro de Lira Ponferrada, inspiring performances from the students of San Miguel Elementary School and Pedro E. Candido Memorial National High School, the Commemorative Message delivered by Dr. Tito M. Collarga of DepEd Hernani District, and the Closing Remarks by Hon. Roderick B. Dequilla.

As we honor the sacrifices of our heroes, may we continue to uphold the values of freedom, unity, and patriotism for future generations.

A new chapter begins for tourism development in Eastern Visayas as Neil Alejandro Pinarok, Provincial Tourism Officer of Eastern Samar, was recently elected as the new President of the Eastern Visayas Tourism Officers Association (EVTOA).

Under his leadership as Provincial Tourism Officer, Eastern Samar has continued to promote its diverse tourism offerings through initiatives such as the Dayaw Tours, and Dasig Tours, while encouraging municipalities to develop and showcase their flagship tourism attractions.

His election marks a significant milestone not only for Eastern Samar but also for the entire Eastern Visayas tourism community as it continues to work toward inclusive growth and sustainable tourism development.
