Sustainable community development begins with creating opportunities that strengthen livelihoods and improve the quality of life of every family. Through the collective efforts of the local government and national agencies, livelihood programs become more than assistance—they become pathways toward economic stability, productivity, and long-term self-reliance.

The Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Hilongos, Leyte, under the leadership of PESO Manager Mr. Giovanni G. Olo, successfully facilitated the Turnover of the DOLE Livelihood Grant Project to the Sta. Margarita Integrated Farm Tillers Association in relation to their Egg Layering Business Project, in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) – West Leyte Field Office.

The activity was graced by the presence of Hon. Manuel V. Lora, Sangguniang Bayan Member; Mr. Giovanni G. Olo, PESO Manager; and Mr. Crispo B. Pido, Livelihood Development Specialist of DOLE–West Leyte Field Office.

This meaningful initiative was made possible through the strong collaboration and support of Mayor Manuel “Linlin” R. Villahermosa, Hon. Carl Nicolas C. Cari, Congressman of the Fifth District of Leyte, and the Sangguniang Bayan of Hilongos headed by Municipal Vice Mayor Albert R. Villahermosa.

The project reflects the unwavering commitment of the Local Government Unit of Hilongos and DOLE to empowering farmers and rural communities by providing sustainable livelihood opportunities that generate income, enhance productivity, and promote economic resilience. More than the turnover of a livelihood grant, this initiative symbolizes hope, partnership, and the shared vision of building a stronger and more self-sufficient community.

As Hilongos continues to invest in programs that uplift the lives of its people, it nurtures a future where every opportunity planted today grows into lasting progress, dignity, and prosperity for generations to come.

More than a payout, the program serves as a testament to the Municipality’s continuing efforts to empower students by equipping them with practical work experience and fostering a deeper appreciation for the dignity of labor. It also highlights the importance of creating opportunities that enable young individuals to contribute meaningfully to their communities while pursuing their academic goals.

As Hilongos continues to invest in its youth, it strengthens the foundation of a community driven by excellence, resilience, and hope—where every student is given the chance to learn, grow, and become a catalyst for positive change.

For every dream nurtured today becomes a success story that will inspire generations tomorrow.
