DILG Hilongos, led by MLGOO Jessica J. Josol together with LGOO II Jean Paul Panoy, participated in the DILG Leyte Provincial Team Conference on May 26, 2026, via Zoom.

The conference served as a vital venue for aligning field operations, focusing on priority program updates, and re-orienting personnel on Foreign Travel Authority (FTA) guidelines and Sub-LGRC coordination. The activity also integrated health and wellness initiatives to foster stronger teamwork and camaraderie among the province's field officers.

As part of the conference highlights, DILG Leyte recognized the top-performing field offices for the month of April. DILG Hilongos clinched the Top 2 spot, sustaining its consistent track record. DILG San Miguel took the Top 1 spot, while DILG Tanauan and DILG Barugo shared the Top 3 honors.

This achievement reflects the dedication of the DILG Hilongos team and the strong collaboration with LGU Hilongos, partner agencies, and stakeholders who continuously support our shared mission of excellent local governance.

May 21, 2026 โ€” The DILG Hilongos Team, headed by MLGOO Jessica J. Josol, actively participated in the 2026 International AIDS Candlelight Memorial held today at Plaza Rizal, Hilongos, Leyte.

Spearheaded by the Local Government Unit of Hilongos under the leadership of Mayor Manuel R. Villahermosa, the event brought together LGU officials and employees for a meaningful afternoon of awareness and remembrance.

The activity commenced with an impactful discussion on HIV and AIDS awareness, emphasizing the shared responsibility of government agencies and the community in ending the stigma and promoting health education. This was followed by a solemn candlelighting ceremony to honor those we have lost to the epidemic and to show unwavering support for people living with HIV.

To conclude the meaningful gathering and officially end the work week, the team proceeded with the regular Flag Lowering ceremony.

DILG Hilongos remains committed to supporting health initiatives and advocacy campaigns that foster a well-informed, safe, and compassionate municipality.

The DILG Leyte Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU), led by Team Leader Engr. Richard V. Ytang (Engineer III), Engr. John Paul Pajares, and Engr. Ed Cula, spearheaded an exit conference following their onsite validation of the Local Government Support Fund - Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (LGSF-FALGU) funded Farm-to-Market Road (FMR) Project in Barangay San Antonio, Hilongos, Leyte.

Held at the Mayor's Conference Room, the conference aimed to discuss key observations regarding the ongoing infrastructure project, as well as its pertinent documents and reports. Additionally, the team discussed updates on the implementation of the LGSF-FALGU Food Assistance (Rice Distribution Project).

DILG Hilongos, represented by MLGOO Jessica J. Josol and LGOO II Jean Paul O. Panoy, joined the activity alongside key municipal department heads and local officials representing the municipal leadership.

This is a vital component of the Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Project (PMNP), which aims to reduce stunting among children and improve primary healthcare delivery. Through ISSM, experts and local implementers use a collaborative coaching approach to ensure that nutrition services are delivered to every family.

The session focused on the presentation of data providing a transparent look at the municipalityโ€™s current status. This served as an avenue for LGU personnel and stakeholders to scrutinize the findings, identify existing service gaps, and engage in honest dialogue about the challenges faced by our frontline health workers in the field.

To wrap up the conference, the council developed a strategic Action Plan specifically designed to bridge these gaps.

DILG Hilongos, represented by LGOO II Jean Paul Panoy, participated in the Gender and Development (GAD) Technical Working Group (TWG) meeting held on May 7, 2026. This activity, called for by the LGU of Hilongos under the leadership of Mayor Manuel R. Villahermosa, focused on the coordination and harmonization of GAD-related planning documents at the barangay level to ensure inclusive local governance. The session also laid the groundwork for the upcoming monitoring of GAD implementation, ensuring that programs and projects translate into meaningful community service, with further evaluation to be spearheaded by the GAD M&E Team.

May 5, 2026 โ€” The SGLG Team of Hilongos convened for a comprehensive review of the Regional Seal of Good Local Governance (RSGLG) indicators across all governance areas. MLGOO Jessica J. Josol led the session, which focused on analyzing the most recent pre-assessment performance standings to provide a clear overview of the current status of compliance.

The meeting served as a strategic venue to address indicators in areas of low performance. Discussions were held to determine specific interventions and corrective actions necessary to improve compliance in preparation for future assessments.

With the 2026 RSGLG preparation phase nearing completion, the team established key agreements for succeeding activities. The focus now shifts toward next yearโ€™s RSGLG audit, ensuring that the municipality remains consistent in its performance and delivery of services.
